Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες του έγκυρου Autosport, η FIA δημιούργησε μια νέα ομάδα εργασίας, της οποίας θα ηγείται ο ανώτατος διοικητικός Damien Clermont, και θα έχει στόχο τη μείωση του κόστους για τις ομάδες. Ένα σημαντικότατο πρόβλημα που απασχόλησε και συνεχίζει να απασχολεί, με τις Marussia και Caterham να είναι ουσιαστικά εκτός grid και τις Lotus, Sauber, Force India να δημιουργούν από κοινού μέτωπο, για να μην έχουν την τύχη των άλλων δυο.
Ο COO της Force India, Otmar Szafnauer, μίλησε επί του θέματος, τονίζοντας πως μία από τις μεγαλύτερες δυσκολίες είναι το γεγονός ότι κάθε αλλαγή στους κανονισμούς -ακόμη κι εκείνες που αποσκοπούν στη μείωση του κόστους- καταλήγουν να είναι ακριβές για τις ομάδες. Μάλιστα, οι πρώτες ανακαλύψεις της ομάδας εργασίας αναμένονται πριν την έναρξη του πρωταθλήματος για το 2015.
Υπάρχουν πολλές συζητήσεις σε εξέλιξη και η FIA έχει δημιουργήσει έναν διερευνητικό οργανισμό, αναφορικά με το τι αλλαγές μπορούν να κάνουν στη Formula 1, για να βοηθήσουν στη μείωση του κόστους. Δεν την έχουν ολοκληρώσει ακόμα, αλλά τα συμπεράσματα αυτής της ομάδας ανεξάρτητων συμβούλων, θα πρέπει να είναι γνωστά πριν από την έναρξη της σεζόν.
Έτσι, προσπαθούν να κατανοήσουν τι οδηγεί το κόστος. Για παράδειγμα, περισσότερες αλλαγές ανεβάζουν τα έξοδα κατακόρυφα. Έτσι, αν θέλουμε να κάνουμε αλλαγές στους κανονισμούς, θα πρέπει να είναι σε τέτοιο σημείο, που θα μειώνει το κόστος.
Ένα εκ των οποίων είναι η μείωση του χρόνου στην αεροδυναμική σήραγγα. Αλλά η FIA εντοπίζει τι αλλαγές μπορεί να κάνει στους κανονισμούς και τι εξοικονόμηση θα προκύψει.
Για τη νέα χρονιά, η ομάδα της Force India αντικαθιστά εκείνη της Lotus στο F1 Strategy Group, αποτελώντας τη μειοψηφία που αντιπροσωπεύει τις μικρές ομάδες. Παράλληλα, ανακοίνωσε και την έναρξη της συνεργασίας της με άλλον ένα χορηγό από το Μεξικό, την εταιρεία INTER που ειδικεύεται στον τομέα των ασφαλίσεων.
