Η Tesla αποκάλυψε επιτέλους το ηλεκτρικό SUV της. Αυτό είναι λοιπόν το πρώτο ηλεκτρικό SUV παραγωγής: το Model X!
Ο σχεδιασμός του αυτοκινήτου, δεν εκπλήσσει. Δεν διαφέρει από το concept που είδαμε για πρώτη φορά το 2012. Η σημαντικότερη διαφορά, είναι ίσως οι καθρέφτες του μοντέλου παραγωγής – το πρωτότυπο ήταν εφοδιασμένο με κάμερες. Από εκεί και πέρα, ξεχωρίζουν τα LED φωτιστικά σώματα εμπρός και πίσω και η κεκλιμένη οροφή. Αξίζει να σημειώσουμε ότι ο αεροδυναμικός συντελεστής οπισθέλκουσας του SUV της Tesla είναι μόλις 0.24, χάρη σε ένα ενεργό spoiler που ανοίγει σε μία από τις τρεις θέσεις του κατά την κίνηση του οχήματος. Επίσης, η Tesla λέει ότι το παρμπρίζ του Model X είναι “το μεγαλύτερο σε παραγωγή” και προσφέρει πανοραμική ορατότητα στον οδηγό και όλους τους επιβάτες. Τέλος, δεν μπορούμε να μην αναφέρουμε τις Falcon Wings πόρτες που επιτρέπουν εύκολη πρόσβαση στην δεύτερη και την τρίτη σειρά καθισμάτων.
Μιας που αναφέραμε τα καθίσματα, η καμπίνα είναι διαθέσιμη σε δύο διαμορφώσεις. Μία με 6 θέσεις -2+2+2- και μία με 7-2+3+2-. Η τρίτη σειρά έχει δυνατότητα αναδίπλωσης όταν δεν χρησιμοποιείται ώστε να “μεγιστοποιείται η άνεση των επιβατών, ο χώρος για τα γόνατα και ο χώρος αποσκευών κάτω από τα καθίσματα”.
Όσον αφορά στα μηχανικά, το Model X θα προσφέρεται σε δύο εκδόσεις. Και οι δύο είναι τετρακίνητες αλλά η 90D έκδοση εφοδιάζεται με δύο ηλεκτροκινητήρες απόδοσης 259 ίππων έκαστος ενώ η P90D, έχει έναν ηλεκτροκινητήρα 259 ίππων και έναν 503 ίππων. Κατά συνέπεια, στην πρώτη έκδοση τα πρώτα 98 km/h από στάση έρχονται σε 4.8 δευτερόλεπτα με την αυτονομία να είναι 414 χιλιόμετρα ενώ στην κορυφαία έκδοση, το 0-98 km/h ολοκληρώνεται σε 3.8 δευτερόλεπτα – μόλις 3.2 με το Ludicrous Speed και η αυτονομία είναι ελαφρώς χαμηλότερη, στα 402 χιλιόμετρα.
Οι μπαταρίες είναι τοποθετημένες στο πάτωμα του αυτοκινήτου για να χαμηλώσουν το κέντρο βάρους και να ενισχύσουν την δομή για προστασία σε πλευρικές συγκρούσεις. Η Tesla έδωσε ιδιαίτερη προσοχή στην ασφάλεια του νέου της αυτοκινήτου, αναφέροντας μάλιστα ότι είναι το πρώτο SUV που βαθμολογείται με 5 αστέρια σε κάθε κατηγορία crash test! Μιας που μιλάμε για ασφάλεια, να συμπληρώσω ότι στον προαιρετικό εξοπλισμό υπάρχει το “Bioweapon Defence Mode” που προστατεύει ενάντια σε βακτήρια, αέρια και διάφορα σενάρια αποκάλυψης!
Ας σοβαρευτούμε όμως και απλά να σου πω, πως δεν είναι τίποτα άλλο, παρά ένα τεράστιο φίλτρο καμπίνας, 10 φορές μεγαλύτερο από τα φίλτρα καμπίνας που συναντάμε συνήθως στα αυτοκίνητα. Άλλες επιλογές, περιλαμβάνουν την αερανάρτηση, ένα ενεργό σύστημα ασφαλείας που συνεργάζεται με μία κάμερα και σόναρ κ.ά.

Model X is the world’s cleanest SUV on the inside, too. The front fascia is designed with a functional duct that pushes air through the first true HEPA filter system available in an automobile allowing medical-grade air to fill the cabin, no matter what is going on outside.
Inside Model X
Model X Falcon Wing doors offer unprecedented convenience, entry, and maneuverability for everyday life. They provide seamless ingress and egress into the second and third row. No longer do parents have to cantilever themselves to avoid hitting their child’s head on the roof as they place them in a car seat.
The double-hinged Falcon Wing doors open up then out, requiring only 30 cm of space on the side of the vehicle. Each door is equipped with capacitive, inductive, and sonar sensors to monitor surroundings and avoid contact with obstacles around the car, making it possible to park in tight spots.
The industry’s first auto presenting door automatically opens and closes as the driver approaches or exits Model X. Why should the driver ever need to touch the door?
Monopost seats move independently, sliding and tilting forward and back. They allow passengers easy access to the third row and give them plenty of foot room when they sit down.

The windshield in Model X stretches up and over the front seat occupants. Second row passengers get a first row vantage point with an expansive view ahead, atop the falcon wing door, and beside them. The windshield’s solar tint transition completes the modern and open feel.

Aerodynamics

At higher speeds the spoiler partially retracts for improved highway efficiency (+1.6%), and optimizes the vehicle’s lift distribution.
