Οι επιδόσεις του, σύμφωνα με την εταιρία είναι “δυνατές” κάνοντας το 0-100 σε λιγότερο από δέκα δευτ. και η τελική του ταχύτητα να περιορίζεται ηλεκτρονικά στα 150 χλμ/ώρα. Stuttgart/Paris. Local emission-free electric vehicles are a key element of the Mercedes-Benz strategy for sustainable mobility. The Paris Motor Show will feature the world premieres of two additional models with electric drive: the Concept B-Class Electric Drive, which will be added to this broad product portfolio in 2014, and the fastest electric-powered series production vehicle in the world – the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive. The advances that the Stuttgart-based premium manufacturer has achieved in this field are demonstrated by electric passenger cars which are already being
manufactured under series production conditions and demonstrating high everyday practicality today. Such vehicles include the B-Class F-CELL, the Vito E-CELL van and the smart fortwo electric drive.
Also in the spotlight at the Mercedes stand in Paris will be the B 200 Natural Gas Drive, showcasing the Mercedes-Benz strategy for sustainable mobility. Other highlights of the appearance at this year’s Motor Show include the new CLS Shooting Brake and the SLS AMG offensive featuring two new models. The sculpture “Aesthetics S” provides an idea of what form the design of luxury saloons might take in the near future. Another key attraction in Paris will be the new A-Class, which has enjoyed an excellent start.
Economical and low on emissions: the B 200 Natural Gas Drive
The new Mercedes B 200 Natural Gas Drive boasts a reduction in
CO2 emissions of over 16 percent, markedly cleaner exhaust gases than with petrol or diesel and fuel costs around 50 percent lower than those for the
comparable model with petrol engine. In natural gas mode, the 115 kW
(156 hp) B 200 Natural Gas Drive runs on only 4.2 kg of fuel per 100 km – corresponding to CO2‑emissions of 115 g per kilometre. The so-called “ENERGY SPACE” in the floor ensures that both variants offer the same generous and variable space inside as the current series production models.
The new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT offers enhanced driving dynamics and even better race track performance. Available in Coupé and Roadster variants, the SLS AMG GT raises the benchmark in decisive fashion once again, with a maximum output of 435 kW (591 hp), the optimised AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission and the newly developed AMG RIDE CONTROL performance suspension.
The CLS Shooting Brake is a further highlight in the long line of innovative luxury vehicles from Mercedes-Benz. While unmistakably coupé in its
proportions, the five-door model opens up a wealth of new possibilities with a roof extending back all the way to the rear end. An extravagant touch without parallel in the automobile industry is the designo wood luggage compartment floor, which highlights the interior’s hand-crafted character. For the American cherrywood luggage compartment floor, specially selected veneer sheets are glued and pressed by hand in five layers to attain a high level of dimensional stability.
The sculpture “Aesthetics S” provides an artistic vision of the design of luxury saloons in the near future. The aesthetics of the relief-like sculpture are
combined with a fascinating projection. The resultant three-dimensional
impression visualises the designers’ creativity in vivid form. The modern
production in three acts, developed by the designers at Mercedes-Benz,
will be on show in Hall 1 at the Paris Motor Show.
Emphatically emotional in design, dynamic and highly efficient, the
Mercedes-Benz A-Class opens up a new chapter in the compact segment.
The newly developed A-Class chassis provides for refined sportiness, featuring a four-link rear axle, electro-mechanical power steering with assistance

Paris – Electric cars from Mercedes-Benz and smart are already covering the entire spectrum of individual mobility. This is underscored by the three new battery-electric drive vehicles celebrating their premieres at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Together with the series-production version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive and the smart BRABUS electric drive, the show also sees the premiere of the B-Class Electric Drive concept, a battery-electric variant of the B-Class. While both two-seaters set sporty accents – each in their own way – the electric B‑Class, due for market launch in 2014, presents a compelling case with its full everyday usability. the world’s most-visited motor show with the equally environmentally friendly B-Class Natural Gas Drive, as well as the new A-Class, which is already enjoying a very successful market debut here in France.

The B-Class Electric Drive concept combines comfortable driving fun with full everyday and family usability. It is driven by a 100 kW electric motor, which delivers exceptional dynamics plus a range of 200 kilometres thanks to its powerful torque of 310 Newton metres. Ensuring that the generous and variable interior space remains unaffected is the “ENERGY SPACE” in the vehicle floor in front of the rear axle. It provides a space-saving and secure location for the lithium-ion battery, while also benefitting the vehicle’s centre of gravity.

Mercedes-AMG is launching a whole new era with the new SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive – the zero-local-emissions super sports car with Formula 1 high-tech is the most exclusive and dynamic way to drive an electric car. The most powerful of all AMG high-performance vehicles is equipped with four electric motors delivering a total output of 552 kW and maximum torque of 1,000 Nm. A super start for the new A-Class – 70,000 advance orders in Western Europe
A further Mercedes highlight in Paris is the new A-Class, which is already enjoying a very successful market debut in France. More than 60,000 potential customers came to the market launch in the showrooms of French Mercedes dealerships. A total of around 700,000 visitors took part in the market premiere. Dieter Zetsche: “We have taken around 70,000 advance orders in Western Europe alone. This makes the market premiere of the new A-Class
the most successful experienced by Mercedes-Benz to date.”
The new A-Class has an exceptionally emotional design, with dynamic engines ranging from 80 kW (109 hp) to 155 kW (211 hp). It is highly efficient, with emissions figures starting at 98 g CO2/km, it has a best-in-class cd value of 0.27 and boasts exemplary safety. The list of standard equipment includes the radar-guided assistance system COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST. The petrol engines and the top diesel unit already fulfil the EURO 6 standard, setting the benchmark for clean exhaust emissions.

Saving the environment and your wallet
With 16 percent less CO2 emissions, significantly cleaner exhaust gases than petrol or diesel fuel and around 50 percent lower fuel costs than a comparable petrol model, the new Mercedes B 200 Natural Gas Drive
featuring, as its name suggests, a natural gas drive, has a lot to
recommend it. The latest model in the successful B-Class family is
due to make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show.
The B 200 Natural Gas Drive is the first B-Class model to make use of the
“ENERGY SPACE” modular body concept: a partial double floor beneath the rear seat bench creates space to accommodate one large and two smaller
natural gas containers, holding a total of 125 litres of natural gas
(corresponding to approx. 21 kg). Thanks to this intelligent packaging method, the five-seater model is able to retain the generously proportioned luggage compartment for which it is known.
In natural gas mode, consumption of the 115 kW (156 hp) B 200 Natural Gas Drive is just 4.2 kg/100 km – corresponding to CO2 emissions of 115 g per kilometre. As a result, emissions are around 16 percent lower than those of the B 200 BlueEFFICIENCY with petrol engine, which offers equal performance. The new model belongs to efficiency class A and meets the EURO 6 emissions standard, which is not due to come into effect for all petrol-engined vehicles until 1st September 2014. But the model not only spares the environment – it is also good on the wallet: converting the consumption of the B 200 Natural Gas Drive into the energy equivalent of petrol, the price per kilometre comes out at around 50 percent lower than the fuel costs of driving a petrol model.
Performance is also on a similarly dynamic level: the B 200 Natural Gas Drive can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds. The B 200 Natural Gas Drive works according to the monovalent+ principle. This means that its engine is basically operated using gas. For
emergencies, there is a small 12-litre petrol tank on board. In the event that the gas tank should ever run dry, the vehicle switches over automatically, and imperceptibly, to petrol operation. And because drivers are not able to select petrol mode themselves, the B 200 Natural Gas Drive is taxed more
favourably as a natural gas vehicle. The range in natural gas mode is
around 500 kilometres.
The trip computer menu in the instrument cluster has been extended in
the case of the B 200 Natural Gas Drive: the respective operating mode is
displayed. In addition, a fill level indicator and remaining range are included for petrol mode. In gas mode, the driver has access to all of the regular trip computer functions.
Visually, the B 200 Natural Gas Drive also differs from other B-Class models
in terms of a few details. Its main characteristics include the distinctive front bumper with strip-form LED daytime driving lights.
Vehicles fitted with natural gas drive are not only particularly environmentally friendly, they are also sustainable. This is because in addition to mineral
natural gas, they can also be operated using biogas. Even synthetically
produced gas can be used: this is produced using “excess” energy from solar power plants or wind farms, and in the future could help to resolve the storage problems encountered with alternative power generation. In this respect,
overall the B 200 Natural Gas Drive can be considered to be emission-free.
The B 200 Natural Gas Drive is celebrating its world premiere at the Paris
Motor Show and is optionally available with manual transmission as well as the 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission. It is due to arrive in dealerships at the beginning of 2013.

Powerful acceleration and an effortlessly enjoyable driving experience
The near-series concept vehicle provides a glimpse of what the near future holds. Quiet and local emission-free drive power is provided by a 100 kW electric motor. Typically for an electric drive, the maximum torque of 310 Newton metres is available right from the first tap on the accelerator pedal – corresponding on a theoretical level roughly to the torque delivery of a state-of-the-art petrol engine with a displacement of three litres. This results in unusually powerful acceleration from a standing start. For the standard sprint from 0 to 100 km/h the electric-powered B-Class requires less than ten seconds. This adds up to superlative performance and all the joys of highly dynamic driving in every situation.
At a top speed limited to 150 km/h, the capacity of the highly efficient lithium-ion battery ensures a range of 200 local emission-free kilometres. This means that in addition to urban driving and short-range trips, longer journeys can also be mastered without any problems – such as the distances covered on a daily basis by commuters, for example. The Concept B-Class Electric Drive’s battery can be recharged at any standard domestic 230 V power outlet. A rapid charging function is also integrated which enables sufficient energy for 100 km to be charged in under an hour.
While the car is on the move, the electric drive itself contributes to a favourable energy balance by transforming kinetic energy into electric current in deceleration mode and during braking and feeding this energy into the battery (recuperation).
Elegant and sporty lines
The powerful lithium-ion battery on board the Concept B-Class Electric Drive is accommodated safely and compactly in the so-called “ENERGY SPACE” under the rear part of the vehicle. This intelligent space concept ensures that the five-seater retains its familiar generously sized interior and boot.
In terms of appearance, the Concept B-Class Electric Drive showcar differs to series production B-Class models in a number of details. These include first and foremost a striking front bumper and new side skirts which flow elegantly into both the front bumper and the newly designed rear bumper. The charging unit is installed inconspicuously behind the filler flap. A special reflective blue colour effect on the exterior highlights the Concept B-Class Electric Drive’s status as a local emission-free electric vehicle.
High-end comfort: exclusive interior
The range of instruments has been extended to cover functions specific to an electric vehicle. The round dial on the right incorporates a power display which is immediately and intuitively comprehensible, for example: the pointer rises when power is being consumed and drops below the zero line when the vehicle is feeding recuperative energy back into the battery. The instrumentation has been designed according to the motto “keep it clean”, i.e. avoiding any unnecessary electronic gadgets which might distract the driver unnecessarily from the traffic.
Soft nappa is predominant inside the vehicle, covering steering wheel, seats, door centre panels, armrests and the dashboard, which is bordered with carefully applied decorative turquoise blue stitching. The passenger compartment is finished in black, white and crystal grey. The perforated seat centre panels and armrests are in keeping with the showcar’s sporty, agile character. Special highlights are provided by fine piping in black, white and turquoise which provides a border for the light seat surfaces. The head restraints additionally sport an embroidered Electric Drive logo.
Connected services
Cutting-edge technology ensures that the Concept B-Class Electric Drive is not only sustainable, but also fully networked and online. Remote checking and remote configuration of the vehicle is possible via the so-called Vehicle Homepage. The driver can access their vehicle on the internet, using their PC or smartphone. In this way, it is possible to check the current charge status of the lithium-ion battery or to verify the vehicle’s current range on a map. The planned route can also be displayed, showing directly whether and where the vehicle can be recharged along the way. The range of connected services is rounded off by a pre-entry climate control option offering individual timing. A further feature is smart charging. This involves the customer selecting a desired time for the beginning of his journey. The system then ensures that the battery is fully charged in time, taking economical and ecological considerations duly into account by using the most cost-effective or CO2-optimised charging times.
Big on safety
Mercedes-Benz attaches the same high safety standards to the Concept B-Class Electric Drive as apply to all the other series-produced vehicles of the MB brand. The very high safety standard of the new Mercedes-Benz B-Class provides the starting point. Thanks to the innovative “ENERGY SPACE”, the battery is accommodated under the floor at the rear of the vehicle, enhancing safety in the event of a crash.
