Μαζί με τα πρόσφατα λανσαρισμένα Fiesta και Kuga, και τα προσεχή EcoSport, Tourneo Connect, Transit Connect και Transit, η Ford θα ανανεώσει πάνω από το 40% του όγκου των Ευρωπαϊκών της πωλήσεων μόνο το 2013.

Ευέλικτο και πρακτικό νέο EcoSport
Η Ford εκτιμά ότι θα πουλήσει ένα εκατομμύριο SUV στην Ευρώπη την επόμενη εξαετία, μία αύξηση που ξεκίνησε με το λανσάρισμα του νέου Ford Kuga νωρίτερα μέσα στη χρονιά.
Το EcoSport SUV που θα ακολουθήσει μέσα στο 2013 προσφέρει χώρους, σύγχρονη σχεδίαση και ευφυή τεχνολογία. Το EcoSport θα διατίθεται με μία γκάμα αποδοτικών κινητήρων, όπως ο βενζινοκινητήρας 1.0 EcoBoost 125 PS – Διεθνής Κινητήρας της Χρονιάς — ο βενζινοκινητήρας 1.5L 110 PS, και ένας 1.5L diesel 90 PS με κορυφαία απόδοση καυσίμου.
Η μεγάλη εμπρός μάσκα, το κοντό καπό και οι κεκλιμένες εμπρός κολώνες συνθέτουν μία σπορ και σύγχρονη εικόνα, ενώ οι γωνιώδεις προβολείς τονίζουν τη μοντέρνα εμφάνιση. Η Ford σχεδιάζει επίσης να φέρει στην Ευρώπη την επόμενη γενιά Ford Edge, ένα μεγαλύτερο και πολυτελέστερο πολυχρηστικό όχημα που είναι δημοφιλές σε ΗΠΑ και άλλες αγορές.
Συνδεδεμένοι με SYNC
Η Ford θα επιταχύνει την εξάπλωση του Ford SYNC που πέρσι προσφερόταν με το 30% των οχημάτων Ford μετά το Ευρωπαϊκό του λανσάρισμα στο νέο B-MAX.
Το 2013, το ποσοστό αυτό θα διπλασιαστεί στο 60% καθώς η τεχνολογία θα είναι διαθέσιμη για το νέο Fiesta και το νέο Kuga ενώ αργότερα μέσα στη χρονιά θα προσφέρεται επίσης με τα νέα Transit Connect, Tourneo Connect και Transit. Στη Γενεύη, 19 από τα 21 οχήματα που παρουσιάζει η Ford είναι συνδεδεμένα με SYNC.
Η Ford έχει λανσάρει επίσης το SYNC with Emergency Assistance που συνδέει άμεσα τους επιβάτες του οχήματος με τοπικές υπηρεσίες επείγουσας ανάγκης μετά από ένα ατύχημα. Σύμφωνα με ανακοίνωση της Ford, το EcoSport θα είναι από τα πρώτα μοντέλα της στην Ευρώπη που θα διατίθενται με SYNC AppLink, το οποίο επιτρέπει στους πελάτες να ελέγχουν φωνητικά εφαρμογές smartphone από τη θέση του οδηγού. Η Ford είναι η πρώτη κατασκευάστρια εταιρία αυτοκινήτων που συνεργάζεται απευθείας με την κορυφαία υπηρεσία Spotify για απευθείας παροχή music streaming μέσα στο αυτοκίνητο.
Μέχρι το 2015, όλα τα Ford που θα πωλούνται στην Ευρώπη θα εφοδιάζονται με SYNC.
Ισχύς EcoBoost
Ο μικρός αλλά ισχυρός βενζινοκινητήρας 1.0 EcoBoost της Ford λανσαρίστηκε στο Focus το 2012 και τώρα προσφέρεται με τα νέα B-MAX, Fiesta, C-MAX και Grand C-MAX. Από αυτά τα μοντέλα, η Ford εκτιμά ότι το 2013 το ένα στα τέσσερα θα πωλείται με κινητήρα 1.0 EcoBoost.
Η βραβευμένη τεχνολογία EcoBoost της Ford συνδυάζει άμεσο ψεκασμό καυσίμου, υπερσυμπίεση και μεταβλητό χρονισμό βαλβίδων επιτρέποντας σε ένα μειωμένου κυβισμού κινητήρα μείωση κατανάλωσης μέχρι 20 % συγκριτικά με μεγαλύτερους κινητήρες και θαυμάσιες επιδόσεις.
Ο 1.0 EcoBoost είναι το μικρότερο μέλος της οικογένειας κινητήρων EcoBoost της Ford στην Ευρώπη, που περιλαμβάνει επίσης τις τετρακύλινδρες εκδόσεις 1.6 και 2.0L. Στο διάστημα 2013-2015, η Ford Ευρώπης θα αυξήσει τη συνολική παραγωγή βενζινοκινητήρων EcoBoost μέχρι 35%. Σε πέντε χρόνια, πάνω από το 50% των βενζινοκινητήρων Ford στην Ευρώπη θα είναι υπερτροφοδοτούμενοι.

GENEVA, March 5, 2013 – Ford’s compact and stylish all-new Tourneo Courier people-mover today makes its global debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show as the company continues to accelerate its product-led transformation in Europe.
Offering class-leading space, practicality, fuel economy and safety features, the all-new Tourneo Courier completes the new full line up of four Tourneo people-movers that are displayed together in Geneva for the first time, and will be introduced to the European market by mid-2014.

Sitting alongside the “MAX” range of multi-activity vehicles in Ford’s passenger car portfolio, the new generation Tourneo models are versatile people-movers with from five to nine seats.
Designed for families and users with active lifestyles, the Tourneo line up features smart, spacious interiors that provide outstanding flexibility and comfort; efficient powertrains that target best-in-class fuel efficiency; and the latest Ford car technologies – including voice-activated, in-car connectivity system Ford SYNC.
Following the debut of the new Tourneo brand at Geneva, Ford will launch “Operation Tourneo”, a programme that will give passionate teams across Europe the chance of using a Tourneo as a support vehicle for their next mission.
All-new Tourneo Courier (five-seat)
The five-seat Tourneo Courier is the most compact member of the exciting new Tourneo family, and expands Ford’s people-mover range into the small-car segment.
“Tourneo Courier packs an unbelievable amount of space into a small package, but without losing any of the convenience and nippy handling of a compact car,” Samardzich said. “Families will love the Tourneo Courier’s stylish looks and versatile interior; and appreciate the fuel economy, value for money, smart technologies and advanced safety features that set it apart from the crowd.”
The all-new Tourneo Courier is based on Ford’s latest global small-car platform, shared with models including the Fiesta and B-MAX. With an overall length of 4.16 metres, the new model offers ample space for five people and their luggage, with the agile handling and manoeuvrability of a compact car. A four-seat configuration is offered for the Turkish market.
With its strong rising shoulder line, slim headlamps and high-mounted signature trapezoidal grille, the Tourneo Courier demonstrates the dynamic character of Ford’s global design language, both outside and inside, where bold graphics complement superior quality and high levels of craftsmanship.
The preview model displayed in Geneva includes unique exterior details such as chrome accents on the upper and lower grilles, and alloy wheels with a distinctive two-tone finish. Special interior finishes include the leather-trimmed upper instrument panel, part-leather seats, chrome detailing and contrasting red highlights.
The Tourneo Courier’s twin rear sliding doors provide best-in-class access, while 60/40 split folding rear seats offer outstanding space and flexibility. Smart stowage features include an adjustable package tray in the luggage area with multiple height positions; a “mega-centre” console capable of storing A4 documents and small laptops; overhead stowage; and a storage drawer under the driver’s seat. A unique device dock in the centre of the instrument panel enables occupants to store, mount and charge mobile devices including phones and satnavs.
The Tourneo Courier will also offer Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance, Ford SYNC AppLink, Rear View Camera, Easy Fuel, and Speed Limiter; and a class-leading range of safety features, including side thorax airbags, curtain airbags, knee airbags and second-row seat belt minders.
Highly-efficient diesel and petrol engines target best-in-class fuel economy, with the option of Auto-Start-Stop on all units. Customers can choose between 1.5-litre (75PS) and 1.6-litre (95PS) Duratorq TDCi diesels, and the remarkable 100PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, the “International Engine of the Year” 2012.
The Tourneo Courier is scheduled for launch in spring 2014, and will be produced at an all-new facility within the Ford Otosan plant in Kocaeli, Turkey.
All-New Tourneo Connect (five-seat) and Grand Tourneo Connect (seven-seat)
The seven-seat Grand Tourneo Connect makes its European debut in Geneva, displayed alongside the five-seat Tourneo Connect.
Standing out from the crowd with its dynamic, modern appearance, the Tourneo Connect delivers a bold new look to this class of people-mover. A stylish cockpit constructed with meticulous attention to design and craftsmanship offers an attractive and comfortable interior.
The driver benefits from the latest Ford driver assistance features and interior technologies. Tourneo Connect is the first in its class to offer Active City Stop, and features Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance, Rear View Camera, and adaptive cornering fog lamps.
Inside the spacious and versatile cabin, the Tourneo Connect offers outstanding practicality for active families, with sliding rear doors, highly flexible seating and a host of smart stowage areas including aircraft-style overhead lockers above the rear seats. The seven-seat Tourneo Grand offers first-in-class fold-flat seating, enabling customers to fold both second- and third-row seats to create a huge, flat luggage space area. The front passenger seat can also be folded to allow extra-long items such as flat-pack furniture to be easily carried.
The Tourneo Connect targets best-in-class fuel economy by offering a choice of highly efficient diesel and petrol engines, and Ford ECOnetic Technology features including Auto-Start-Stop and an Active Grille Shutter system. The powertrain lineup in Europe includes the 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel with a choice of 75, 95 and 115PS versions, and the 100PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, plus a version of the acclaimed 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine available with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Tourneo Connect is based on the global C-segment platform shared by vehicles including the Focus and all-new Kuga/Escape. The 5-seat model has an overall length of 4.42 metres, while the 7-seat Grand Tourneo Connect has a 400 mm longer wheelbase and an overall length of 4.82 metres. Both will go on sale in Europe at the end of 2013.
All-New Tourneo Custom (eight-/nine-seat)
The dynamic new Tourneo Custom, launched last year, delivers ultimate space and versatility, offering generous accommodation for up to nine occupants and their luggage. Now on sale across Europe, the new model broke new ground in its segment as the first vehicle to achieve the maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.
The all-new interior is constructed with high quality materials, and is available in a choice of eight- or nine-seat configurations. The seats in the two rear seating rows are a new design that can be easily folded into multiple configurations and removed in segments or completely – offering more than 30 seating permutations.
Two vehicle length options are available, with overall lengths of 4.97 metres and 5.34 metres; the longer model provides extra luggage space behind the third seat row. All versions come with twin side sliding doors as standard and a wide-opening tailgate.
The Tourneo Custom offers a comprehensive range of Ford’s latest vehicle technologies, including SYNC, Rear View Camera, Speed Limiter, Auto High Beam and Driver Alert. Two technology features – Lane Keeping Alert and SYNC Emergency Assistance – have been awarded Euro NCAP Advanced rewards, a first for a vehicle in this class.
The powertrain is an improved version of Ford’s latest 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine that combines outstanding performance and refinement with exceptional fuel efficiency. Three power ratings are available: 100PS, 125PS and 155PS; featuring a six-speed manual transmission and standard Auto-Start-Stop, the powertrain delivers class-leading fuel consumption of 43.5mpg and 172 g/km CO2 emissions.*
