Η Ford θα αντικαταστήσει δωρεάν τον αερόσακο οδηγού των επηρεαζόμενων από την ανάκληση αυτοκινήτων, οι οποίοι μέχρι σήμερα ευθύνονται για 13 νεκρούς και περισσότερους από 100 τραυματίες. Από την ανάκληση επηρεάζονται τα 2006-2011 Ford Fusion, 2007-2010 Ford Edge, 2007-2011 Ford Ranger, 2005-2011 Ford Mustang, 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX και 2006-2011 Lincoln MKZ, Zephyr και Mercury Milan.

FORD ISSUES SAFETY RECALL FOR VEHICLES CONTAINING CERTAIN TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS

DEARBORN, Mich., June 1, 2016 – Ford is issuing a safety recall for vehicles that have certain non-desiccated Takata passenger-side frontal airbag inflators after Takata declared those inflators are defective. This expanded recall follows Takata’s notification to the U.S. NHTSA that certain of its airbag inflators are defective, affecting several automakers across the industry.
The vehicles affected by this Takata action are 2007-2010 Ford Edge, 2006-2011 Ford Fusion, 2005-2011 Ford Mustang, 2007-2011 Ford Ranger, 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX and 2006-2011 Lincoln MKZ, Zephyr and Mercury Milan vehicles built in North America. Ford is not aware of any injuries associated with these passenger side frontal inflators in any Ford vehicles related to this safety recall. Driver side airbag inflators in these vehicles are not included in this recall.
A total of 1,898,728 vehicles now are affected by this safety recall, including 1,896,443 in the United States and federalized territories, 1,304 in Canada and one in Mexico. Dealers will replace the passenger-side frontal airbag inflator at no cost to the customer.

SUMMARY:
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Pathfinder vehicles manufactured June 20, 2012, to June. 13, 2013. The brake light switch may have been installed incorrectly causing the relay to remain in the “ON” position and the brake lights to remain illuminated even when the brakes are not applied. Additionally, the brake light switch may interfere with the brake-shift interlock, allowing the driver to exit the vehicle without the transmission in the “PARK” position.
CONSEQUENCE:
If the brake lights remain illuminated, other drivers may fail to stop when the vehicle actually brakes, increasing the risk of a crash. If the driver exits the vehicle without the transmission in the “PARK” position, the vehicle may rollaway, increasing the risk of injury.
REMEDY:
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake light switch and, as necessary, replace the relay, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on July 25, 2016. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
