Η Πρωταθλήτρια Mercedes το ξέρει καλά αυτό και παράλληλα με την σημερινή της ανακοίνωση για συνεργασία με την γνωστή εταιρεία ανάπτυξης και παραγωγής συστημάτων προστασίας για το κεφάλι, Schuberth, έκανε γνωστό πως από κοινού δημιουργήθηκε ένα νέο κράνος για τους ανθρώπους των pits.


Αυτό θα το δούμε για πρώτη φορά στην Μελβούρνη και θα διαθέτει το κατοχυρωμένο με δίπλωμα ευρεσιτεχνίας χωρίς ραφή εσωτερικό και το ανθρακονημάτινο εξωτερικό στρώμα, για να διασφαλιστούν υψηλότερα επίπεδα προστασίας και ασφάλειας.

Από την άλλη πλευρά, η συνεργασία ανάμεσα σε Sauber και Hewlett-Packard (που συνεργαζόταν στενά με την ομάδα της Williams στα χρόνια της BMW) οδήγησε στην κατασκευή ενός υπερυπολογιστή, που εγκαταστάθηκε στο κτίριο της αεροδυναμικής σήραγγας της ομάδας στο Hinwil και θα λειτουργεί από τώρα και στο εξής. A leading manufacturer at the forefront of the development and production of head protection systems, Schuberth has worked closely with Mercedes AMG Petronas to develop a new helmet designed to protect the team’s crew members as they take part in pit stops.

The new helmet, which will debut at the Australian Grand Prix, features the Schuberth-patented seamless inside and a carbon fibre outer layer, resulting in a first-class helmet to ensure the highest levels of safety and head protection.

Schuberth will also make the model available as a high-end helmet for winter sports purposes from Autumn 2015 to expand its already impressive product portfolio.

The Sauber F1 Team is pleased to announce Hewlett-Packard as Promotional Partner. Hewlett-Packard is one of the largest technology companies worldwide.

This partnership allows the Sauber F1 Team to access the latest technologies from Hewlett-Packard. In close cooperation with the Hewlett-Packard High Performance Computing (HPC) Competence Center in Grenoble, a super computer has been developed which will mainly apply in the areas of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). It is a server specific solution, which is based on the workload optimised HP ProLiant Moonshot servers, as well as Server Blades of the latest Gen9 Generation. The High Performance Computing Cluster is specially designed to fulfill the requirements of the Sauber F1 Team with an extra high performance and efficiency. This will help to improve the processing capacity and significantly reduce the energy consumption in comparsion to the current system.

The high performance computer was established in the wind tunnel building at the Sauber Motorsport AG in Hinwil and will operate from now on.
