Όσο πλησιάσουμε στον Νοέμβριο, τόσο οι κατασκευαστές και οι βελτιωτές θα μας παρουσιάζουν τα αυτοκίνητα με τα οποία θα κατέβουν στην έκθεση. Μετά την Hyundai και τα δύο ιδιαίτερα Santa Fe, ακολουθεί η Ford που θα φέρει στη SEMA 4 διαφορετικά F-150.
Το πρώτο από αυτά, ονομάζεται Gold Standard Ford F-150 Project Truck και έχει κατασκευαστεί από την A.R.E. Accessories. Προφανώς, το πρώτο πράγμα που παρατηρεί κανείς είναι το χρυσό χρώμα αλλά δεν θα μπορούσαμε να μην αναφέρουμε το TopperEZLift σύστημα που ανυψώνει το κάλυμμα της καρότσας, την υπερυψωμένη ανάρτηση και τις σφυρήλατες ζάντες ελαφρού κράματος 24 ιντσών…
Το δεύτερο. Αυτό που βλέπεις στην κεντρική φωτογραφία του άρθρου, προέρχεται από την Καλιφορνέζικη Bojix Design και αποτελεί μία εναλλακτική για το F-150 Raptor. Η απόσταση από το έδαφος έχει αυξηθεί κατά σχεδόν 18 εκατοστά, τα δύο turbos και το intercooler έχουν αναβαθμιστεί (ιπποδύναμη δεν έχει ανακοινωθεί) ενώ το ίδιο έχει συμβεί και στο σύστημα πέδησης με ένα kit της Brembo. Όσον αφορά στο εξωτερικό, έχουν αντικατασταθεί ο εμπρός και ο πίσω προφυλακτήρας, έχουν τοποθετηθεί light-bars καθώς και μία σειρά αξεσουάρ της Ford. Το εσωτερικό από την άλλη, έχει επενδυθεί με Katzkin δέρμα ενώ οι επιβαίνοντες θα ακούν την μουσική τους από ένα ηχοσύστημα της Kicker.
Το τρίτο, ξεχωρίζει πρώτα απ’ όλα από τον κινητήρα. Ενώ τα προηγούμενα δύο φορούσαν τον 3.5 λίτρων Ecoboost V6, το BMX-themed F-150 που βλέπεις, κρύβει κάτω από το καπό τον 5-λιτρο, πρώην ατμοσφαιρικό V8. Λέω πρώην ατμοσφαιρικό γιατί πάνω στον V8 έχει καθίσει ένας supercharger της Whipple. Όπως και να έχει, το συγκεκριμένο F-150 είναι εξοπλισμένο με πράγματα που χρησιμοποιούν άνθρωποι της δράσης όπως πλαίσια για ποδήλατα, GoPro κάμερες κ.ά.
Τελευταίο, το EraThr3 της Hulst Customs. Ένα εξαιρετικά χαμηλωμένο F-150, με 26άρες ζάντες ελαφρού κράματος, αερανάρτηση, custom πίσω ανάρτηση και έναν βελτιωμένο, 5-λιτρο V8 που χάρη στον υπερσυμπιεστή της Whipple, αποδίδει 750 άλογα!
