Όπως δείχνουν τα πράγματα δυστυχώς η Mitsubishi θα σταματήσει την παραγωγή του Lancer Evo X λόγω ρύπων. Η αγγλική Mitsubishi ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ότι μειώνει τις τιμές του Evo X αλλά δεν αναφέρει τίποτα σχετικά τον αντικαταστάτη του που λογικά τον περιμέναμε μέσα στο 2012 ή 2013.
Το δελτίο τύπου αναφέρει ότι η Mitsubishi θέλει να τονώσει τις πωλήσεις του Evo X του οποίου η αρχική τιμή πλέον στην Αγγλία ανέρχεται στα £29,699 (€34.189).
Ο αντικαταστάτης του ίσως βγει στη παραγωγή ως υβριδικό μοντέλο γύρω στο 2015 και ίσως υπάρχει και μια υβριδική plug-in έκδοση του.
Ο Osamu Masuko, πρόεδρος και CEO της Mitsubishi Motors Corporation δήλωσε:
Αναγνωρίζουμε ότι οι αυτοκινητοβιομηχανίες έχουνε ευθύνη ώστε να αναλάβουν ηγετικό ρόλο στην ανάπτυξη των περιβαλλοντικών πρωτοβουλιών. Στόχος μας είναι να κατέχουμε ηγετική θέση παγκοσμίως στη μείωση των εκπομπών CO2 σε παγκόσμια κλίμακα.
Η παραγωγή της τρέχουσας γενιάς του Lancer Evolution X συνεχίζεται όπως έχει προγραμματιστεί. Σε ότι αφορά τον διάδοχο του, το feedback των αγορών και οι περιορισμοί θα είναι αυτοί που θα μας δείξουν τι ακριβώς θα κάνουμε ώστε να αποφασίσουμε σχετικά για την αρχιτεκτονική του και το μηχανικό του μέρος. Καθώς οι ανάγκες και οι απαιτήσεις της αγοράς αλλάζουν, η Mitsubishi εξετάζει το ενδεχόμενο να μην ακολουθήσει την ίδια ιδέα για το επόμενο Lancer Evolution, όπως έχει ακολουθήσει μέχρι στιγμής, αλλά να βρει μια διαφορετική κατεύθυνση για το επόμενο Evo. Η νέα κατεύθυνση, οι τεχνολογίες που εμπλέκονται και τα αντίστοιχα προϊόντα θα γίνουν γνωστά στο μέλλον.”
Τώρα εσύ από τα παραπάνω σίγουρα καταλαβαίνεις ότι το επόμενο Evo θα είναι υβριδικό, ή κάτι αντίστοιχο τέλος πάντων. Πάει και αυτό, το έφαγαν οι ρύποι. Κρίμα.
