Μετά τη Red Bull Racing και πιο πρόσφατα τη McLaren, ήρθε και η σειρά της Sahara Force India να συνεργαστεί με ομάδα μικρότερης κατηγορίας, ώστε να δημιουργήσει τη δική της junior team. Πρόκειται για τη Γερμανική Hilmer Motorsport, του Franz Hilmer, η οποία μετρά μόλις ένα χρόνο ζωής. Αγωνιζόμενη στο GP2, η ομάδα κατάφερε να πάρει 4 νίκες στην παρθενική της χρονιά.
Η Hilmer πλέον θα αποτελεί την επίσημη ομάδα της Force India στο GP2, τρέχοντας με τα διακριτικά χρώματα της ομάδας του Vijay Mallya, και οδηγούς τους Facu Regalia και Daniel Abt. Το πρόγραμμα ανάπτυξης διευρύνει την επιτυχία του προγράμματος reserve drivers της Sahara Force India, η οποία έχει ήδη βοηθήσει την πρόοδο αρκετών οδηγών στη Formula 1. Παράλληλα, βοηθά στην προσπάθεια εύρεσης νέων ταλέντων, που η ομάδα ονομάζει ‘One From A Billion’, με σκοπό την ένταξή τους στην ακαδημία νέων οδηγών της Force India.
