Το /Drive, το διάσημο κανάλι του YouTube, κάνει το επόμενο βήμα και μεταφέρεται και στη τηλεόραση. Όπως ανακοίνωσαν οι άνθρωποι του καναλιού, συμφώνησαν με το καλωδιακό δίκτυο NBC Sports για ένα σόου αποτελούμενο από 10 επεισόδια.
Ντεμπούτο θα κάνει το ερχόμενο Σάββατο, μαζί με την κάλυψη του NBCSN για το GP του Μονακό, και στο πρώτο επεισόδιο θα δούμε τους Chris Harris, Mike Spinelli και Matt Farah, να οδηγούν τις Ferrari F12, McLaren 650S και Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series στους δρόμους του Πριγκιπάτου, ώστε να εξερευνήσουν την ατμόσφαιρα που περιβάλλει το πριγκιπάτο τις ημέρες του GP.
Τι; Σου θυμίζει το concept κάτι; Χμμ. Και σε εμένα. Σίγουρα δεν είμαστε οι μόνοι που κατευθείαν το μυαλό μας πήγε στα video του Top Gear. Τα 10 επεισόδια θα προβληθούν έως τον Νοέμβριο και απορείς τι θα γίνει με τα video του /Drive στο YouTube.
Κανείς δεν έχει πάρει ακόμη θέση, με τον Harris να γράφει σε ένα tweet του πως αυτά θα συνεχίσουν, αλλά με κάποιον τρόπο θέλησαν να βγάλουν χρήματα. Έτσι πούλησαν υλικό στο NBC Sports, ενώ σκέφτονται να βάλουν επί πληρωμή και κάποια video τους στο YouTube. Και φαντάζεσαι φυσικά ποια θα είναι αυτά… Τα review αυτοκινήτων που όλος ο κόσμος θέλει να δει (βλέπε LaFerrari, P1, 918 Spyder κτλ, κτλ).

13 Episodes Based on the Top-Rated Online Network to Air on NBCSN Starting May 24
NEW YORK, May 19, 2014 — /DRIVE, the number one original Internet automotive media network, is bringing its dynamic, car-enthusiast programming to cable television on the NBCSN, which will televise 10 episodes through the remainder of the 2014 calendar year.

The debut episode of /DRIVE on NBC Sports will air Saturday, May 24, immediately following coverage of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix qualifying session. Nine additional episodes of /DRIVE on NBC Sports will air on NBCSN starting July 2014.
In the premiere episode, /DRIVE on NBC Sports: Monaco, hosts Chris Harris, Matt Farah and Mike Spinelli embark on an epic adventure, sprinting across Europe to the Principality of Monaco in three, Formula 1-inspired supercars from F1 constructors Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz AMG and McLaren, to discover the glitz, glamour and racing history surrounding the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix.
Future episodes will follow /DRIVE personalities as they drive and evaluate the most exciting cars in the world, on some of the most dramatic roadways on the planet.
The partnership will also produce a new NBC Sports F1 original series “Off the Grid” hosted by NBC Sports F1 pit reporter Will Buxton and his producer Jason Swales. In each of the three half-hour episodes, the hosts give us a behind the scenes look inside the exclusive world of Formula One. From the paddock to the parties, experience F1 and the beautiful cities it visits like a true F1 insider.
The premiere episode of “Off the Grid” will air Saturday, May 24th, immediately following /DRIVE on NBC Sports: Monaco special at 10:00 am ET. The first episode “Off the Grid: Barcelona” presents an inside look at the 2014 Spanish Grand Prix. The show features interviews with Force India driver, Nico Hulkenberg; Andy Cowell, Managing Director, Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains; and American GP2 drivers Alexander Rossi & Conor Daly.
Two additional “Off the Grid” episodes will air later this year on NBCSN and across the top-rated /DRIVE Network taking viewers inside the Hungarian and Singapore Grand Prixs.
