Ήταν αναμενόμενη η δυνατή έκδοση του Clubman, που θα έχει πάρει τις φροντίδες του τμήματος “John Cooper Works“, με τον 2,0-λιτρο κινητήρα και με την 4-κίνηση να είναι στον βασικό εξοπλισμό. Ο κινητήρας της BMW με κωδικό Β48, όπως ήδη γνωρίζεις, αποδίδει 231 ίππους και έχει ροπή 350 Nm. 
Αυτά τα νούμερα χαρίζουν στο 6-πορτο MINI, επιτάχυνση για τα πρώτα 100 χλμ/ώρα μέσα σε 6,3 δευτερόλεπτα, με την κίνηση να περνάει και στους τέσσερις τροχούς μέσω ενός χειροκίνητου κιβωτίου 6 ταχυτήτων, ενώ υπάρχει και η επιλογή για ένα 8-τάχυτο αυτόματα. Το πακέτο συμπληρώνουν τα φρένα της Brembo, οι σπορ εξατμίσεις και τα διάφορα διακριτικά της έκδοσης “Works”, που το διαφοροποιούν από τα άλλα, ενώ και στο εσωτερικό τα καθίσματα είναι τύπου μπάκετ, προδίδοντας τον σπορ χαρακτήρα του αυτοκινήτου.
Με αυτά τα δεδομένα, είναι ξεκάθαρο πως στοχεύει την κατηγορία των GTi. Σίγουρα του το επιτρέπει η “προίκα” που έχει πάρει από το κανονικό Mini Cooper S, αρκεί να δούμε και στην πράξη, αν θα μπορεί να κινείται με τον ίδιο τρόπο.
