Από την ανάκληση επηρεάζονται τα αυτοκίνητα με τον 2,4-λιτρων τετρακύλινδρο κινητήρα, το καπάκι του οποίου μπορεί να βγει από τη θέση του, αυξάνοντας έτσι τον κίνδυνο πυρκαγιάς, μιας και ενδεχομένως έρθει σε επαφή με μέρος της καυτής εξάτμισης.
Στις σχετικές ειδήσεις, η Ford ανακοίνωσε πως ανακαλεί περίπου 8.000 Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Linolnks MKS και MKT παραγωγής 2015, στα οποία υπάρχει το ενδεχόμενο το χειρόφρενο να μην λειτουργεί σωστά.

Statement: Engine Cover
July 22, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. – FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 144,416 crossover utility vehicles (CUVs) in the U.S. to better secure their engine covers.
Engine covers in certain vehicles may become dislodged. If they come in contact with exhaust components, it may pose a fire risk.
This condition was discovered during an FCA US investigation of three incidents in Chile. In each case, the vehicle had been driven extensively on unpaved or uneven surfaces. The Company is aware of a single related injury, described as minor.
Affected are 2011-2015 Dodge Journey and Fiat Freemont CUVs equipped with 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engines. FCA US will install upgraded engine-cover retainers in these vehicles. The remedy will be available when customer notification begins next month; service will be performed free of charge.
Vehicles equipped with six-cylinder engines are not affected.
Additional Journey and Freemont populations also are subject to this campaign. They comprise an estimated 43,679 vehicles in Canada; 46,231 in Mexico; and 115,405 outside the NAFTA region.
Of the 349,731 total vehicles subject to this campaign, approximately 10 percent remain in dealer hands.

Indicators of a loose engine cover may include noise from the vehicle’s engine compartment, a burning odor and/or a warning light in the instrument cluster. Customers who experience these events are advised to contact their dealers.
Ford Issues Safety Compliance Recall in North America
DEARBORN, Mich., July 22, 2015 – Ford is issuing a safety compliance recall for approximately 8,000 vehicles in North America, including certain 2015-2016 Ford Explorer, and certain 2015 Taurus and Flex, as well as Lincoln MKS and MKT vehicles for an issue with the parking brake. In these vehicles, the parking brake might not engage fully, which is a compliance issue with FMVSS 135 regarding brake systems.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
Affected vehicles include certain 2015-2016 Ford Explorer vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 23, 2015; certain 2015 Ford Taurus vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 23, 2015; certain 2015 Ford Flex vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 23, 2015; certain 2015 Lincoln MKS vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 23, 2015; and certain Lincoln MKT vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 21, 2015.
There are 7,165 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories, 799 in Canada and one in Mexico.
Dealers will inspect the vehicle and, if necessary, replace the parking brake control assembly at no cost to the customer.
