2016 Camaro SS Concepts Designed to Inspire
Red, Black Accent cars showcase new accessories, preview production packages
DETROIT – Chevrolet introduced two customized 2016 Camaro SS concepts that illustrate the possibilities enabled by the new portfolio of Gen Six Camaro accessories and performance parts.
Dubbed Red Accent and Black Accent for their respective design themes, each uses components Chevrolet will offer during the first model year of the new Camaro.
“These are great-looking examples of what customers can do to personalize their new Gen Six Camaro,” said Roger McCormack, director, Accessories & Performance Parts Marketing. “This will be the largest-ever portfolio of Camaro accessories and performance parts. The possibilities are limited only by imagination.”
The new portfolio of Camaro accessories and performance parts includes:
– Three aluminum wheel designs, in multiple finishes
– Grille kits with six body-color inserts for LT and SS models; inserts are also available in chrome-appearance or primed versions for custom painting
– A blade-style rear spoiler and ground effects kit, each offered in 10 colors
– Four exterior graphics packages, offered in multiple colors, including,” rally stripe,” front-fender “hash mark,” racing stripe designs and a body-side “spear” graphic
– Interior trim kits, including knee pads and door accent trim, offered in multiple colors
– Performance exhaust kits for SS and V-6-equipped LT models (not compatible with the dual-mode exhaust system)
– Suspension lowering kits for SS and LT models (not compatible with SS models equipped with available Magnetic Ride Control)
– Brembo® performance front brake packages for SS and LT models
– Performance air intake kit for the SS
– Engine covers for SS and V-6-equipped LT models.
Customers can view many of the accessories on the new Camaro using the online Camaro Visualizer.
“All of the exterior accessories enhance the Camaro’s already strong design, as they were developed in the Chevrolet Performance Studio alongside the production model itself,” said Adam Barry, senior creative designer, Chevrolet Camaro. “That means customers can personalize their new Gen Six Camaro with parts that are styled, engineered and aero-tested by the same team that designed the car.”
Camaro SS Red Accent Package concept
The adage less is more applies to this tasteful-yet-dynamic Camaro SS convertible. Its Switchblade Silver Metallic exterior is accented with red accessory trim and complemented by an Adrenaline Red leather-trimmed interior.
The exterior accessories include a lower grille with red inserts, red “hash mark” fender graphics, black bowtie emblems and 20-inch 5-Spoke Gloss Black wheels with Red Outline Stripe. Under the hood is a red-accented engine cover.
The cabin features an interior illumination kit with red aluminum door inserts, knee pads in red, sport pedal covers, and premium SS-logo carpeted floor mats and center console cover.
In addition to the Red Accent appearance enhancements, Chevrolet included several integrated performance kits including lowered suspension, air intake and Brembo front brakes with six-piston calipers.
Camaro SS Black Accent Package concept
The Red Hot Camaro SS coupe with an added Black Accent package creates a decidedly more “tuner” aesthetic. The aggressive design uses black ground effects, darkened taillamps, satin black rally stripes, black bowtie emblems and black 20-inch 5 Split Spoke Low Gloss Black Wheels. There’s also a concept black fuel door cover.
The performance suspension lowering kit and Brembo front brake package – with red calipers – completes the street-smart stance of the Camaro. Under the hood is the new performance air intake and a red accented engine cover.
The Jet Black leather-trimmed interior is personalized with black interior trim and knee pads, SS-logo premium carpeted floor mats, a suede console lid with the Chevrolet Performance logo and red stitching, and sport pedal covers.
The Red Accent and Black Accent Camaro SS concepts will be displayed at the 2015 SEMA Show, in Las Vegas, along with more than 20 Chevrolet vehicles with production and concept accessories and performance parts.

TJIN EDITION ROUNDS OUT HYUNDAI’S SEMA LINEUP WITH EXTREME GENESIS COUPE
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 26, 2015 – Rounding out Hyundai’s 2015 SEMA lineup, TJIN Edition RoadShow has revealed details on its convention-defying Genesis Coupe. For Neil Tjin’s first official Hyundai vehicle built for SEMA, the builder turned to underground racing for inspiration to create this mad, 500 horsepower racer. The vehicle will be revealed at Hyundai’s SEMA press conference on November 3 at 11:30 a.m. PT.
At the heart of TJIN’s Genesis Coupe is Hyundai’s 3.8-liter “Lambda” V6 engine, which has been boosted via a Vortech supercharger kit built by the power gurus from Bisimoto Engineering. With the addition of a free-flowing exhaust system, Vortech front mount intercooler and blow-off valve, the vehicle now produces more than 500 horsepower. With the addition of Rotiform 19-in. 3-piece HUR wheels, custom Baer x CBA Extreme Plus brake calipers and Falklen FK345 tires, the vehicle’s stopping power is now on par with its go-fast performance.
The vehicle now sits lower on KW coilovers to give a more aggressive stance. Unique Fabrication supplied a custom front lip, rear spoiler and custom trunk lid, and the exterior was finished in a custom Kylie Tjin Axalta green paint job.
“The Tjin Edition Hyundai Genesis is the perfect mix of speed and style,” said Neil Tjin, president, TJIN Edition RoadShow. “The vehicle grabs your attention with its vibrant, Tjin green ‘Axalta’ paint job and custom Rotiform wheels, boasts impressive performance thanks to a Bisimoto Engineering supercharger system and Baer brake system, and the interior is finished in CT-inspired Alea leather.”

UAW-GM Bargaining Committee Votes on Proposed Tentative Agreement
UAW National GM Council Leaders to Convene for Vote on Wednesday
Terms to be announced following Wednesday vote
Detroit, Mich. – The UAW-GM Bargaining committee announced at 11:43 p.m.Sunday that they have secured significant gains and job security protections in a proposed Tentative Agreement with General Motors.
The bargaining committee unanimously voted to send the proposed Tentative Agreement to local union leaders who make up the union’s UAW National GM Council. The Council will meet in Detroit on Wednesday to discuss and vote on the agreement.
“We believe that this agreement will present stable long-term significant wage gains and job security commitments to UAW members now and in the future,” said UAW President Dennis Williams. “We look forward to presenting the details of these gains to local union leaders and the membership.”
UAW Vice President Cindy Estrada called the agreement transformative as it gives our members a clear path. “The significant gains in this agreement are structured in a way that will provide certainty to our members and create a clear path for all GM employees now and in the future. The agreement not only rewards UAW-GM members for their accomplishments, but it protects them with significant job security commitments.”
Until the UAW National GM Council votes to approve the deal, it is classified as a Proposed Tentative Agreement. The contract language becomes a Tentative Agreement once the Council votes and they have requested details to be held until they review and vote on the proposal. Following Council approval, the UAW will release details of the Tentative Agreement to its membership and the ratification process will begin. A vote of the UAW-GM membership will decide whether or not the deal is finalized.
The union plans to make the details of the agreement available immediately after the UAW National GM Council votes on the tentative agreement Wednesday and will have no comment until that time.
