Παρόν και οι ιδιοκτήτες των αυτοκινήτων των προγραμμάτων F1 Clienti και Corse Clienti XX όπου είχαν την ευκαιρία να οδηγήσουν τα αυτοκίνητα τους. Εκεί ο Mark Gene με μια F2003 GA, έκανε νέο ανεπίσημο ταχύτερο γύρο, αφού γύρισε σε 1.05.78. At Laguna Seca with the Ferrari Racing Days
Maranello, 18 May –This weekend, the legendary Californian Laguna Seca circuit, just down the road from the delights of Monterey, will host the third Ferrari Racing Days of the year, with several jewels of the Maranello marque taking part in some intensive test session, including an F2003GA, an FXX and four 599XXs.
Owners involved in the Maranello firm’s non competitive programmes will have the support of very experienced professionals such as Marc Gene, who will provide valuable advice aimed at allowing owners to get the most out of driving on track. The event also gives drivers the chance to evaluate the evolution package introduced at the end of 2011 on the 599XX, with its innovative technical elements which further increase the performance of a car aimed that those who want to spend their weekend on a race track.
The eagerly anticipated event takes place alongside the third round of the Ferrari Challenge North America, which gets underway today with the first free practice sessions. Saturday and Sunday are given over to two qualifying sessions that determine the grid for the two races.
Ferrari Spectacular at Laguna Seca
Maranello, 20 May – This weekend, the Laguna Seca circuit in California hosted the third Ferrari Racing Days of the year, the event that brings together on track all the main areas of activity of the Maranello marque’s Corse Clienti department. The busy programme included free practice sessions for drivers taking part in the XX and historic F1 programmes as they tackled this thrilling track that was the perfect backdrop for them to experience driving at speed in a safe environment, as well as benefiting from the support of professional racing drivers such as Marc Gene, who was there as a tutor. Also on track at Laguna Seca the twenty eight drivers entered in the third round of the Ferrari Challenge North America tackling free practice and the first round of races at the wheel of their 458 Challenge cars.
Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale’s Alex Popow was fastest in the Trofeo Pirelli in 1.27.561, beating Onofrio Triarsi (Ferrari of Central Florida) and Harry Cheung (Ferrari of Beverley Hills,) while in the Coppa Shell, three Ferrari of Ontario drivers topped the time sheet: Ryan Ockey took pole in 1.28.882, followed by Robert Herjavec and Damon Ockey.
The grid order was more or less confirmed in Race 1, with Popow winning the Trofeo Pirelli, followed home by Triarsi and Cheung, while in the Coppa Shell, the win went to Ryan Ockey, who took the flag ahead of his brother Damon and Robert Herjavec.
The Ferrari Challenge North America continues with the final qualifying session on Sunday at 10.20 to decide the grid for Race 2 which takes place at 15.30. There will also be further free practice sessions for drivers in the non-competitive Ferrari Corse Clienti programmes.

Maranello, 21 May – This weekend, the Laguna Seca circuit hosted the Ferrari Racing Days, the highlight of which was the Ferrari Challenge North America and track sessions for owners involved in the XX and F1 programmes, with the help of very experienced professional racers like Marc Gene.
During the event, the Spanish driver, at the wheel of the F2003 GA Formula 1 car, set a new track record. As it was set during a free practice session, the record of 1.05.78 is classed as unofficial, beating the time set by Sebastien Bourdais on 10 March 2007 in a Panoz DP01 Champ Car (1.05.88) and Ricardo Zonta’s time of 1.06.30, set in a Toyota TF106 F1 car on 20 August 2006.
Sunday saw the final race of this round of the Ferrari Challenge North America, with victory going to Alex Popow, racing for the Fort Lauderdale dealership. He took the flag ahead of Onofrio Triarsi (Ferrari of Central Florida,) in a race which featured an appearance from the Safety Car, that made the outcome far from certain. In the Coppa Shell, Ferrari of Ontario did the double with Robert Herjavac beating team-mate Damon Ockey and Maurizio Scala (Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale.) The fourth round of the Stars and Stripes Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will take place at the Montreal circuit on 10 June, as part of the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix weekend, round 7 of the Championship.
