Έχει αγοράσει σχεδόν τα πάντα. Ο λόγος για το VW Group το οποίο πλέον έχει κάτω από την ομπρέλα του την Volkswagen, την Audi, την Seat, την Skoda, την Lamborghini, την Bentley, την Porsche, την Bugatti, την Scania την MAN αλλά και την Ducati. Και οι ορέξεις του Γερμανικού κολοσσού δεν σταματούν, αφού έχει δηλώσει ανοικτά ότι θέλει να αγοράσει την Alfa Romeo, αλλά ο CEO της Fiat, Sergio Marchionne, έκανε σαφές ότι η Alfa δεν πωλείται, ενώ οι φήμες θέλουν να σκέφτεται να εξαγοράσει τόσο την Lotus όσο και την Proton.
Ωστόσο, ένα μέλος του εποπτικού συμβουλίου του VW Group, το οποίο απαρτίζεται από 20 άτομα, ο Bernd Osterloh, δήλωσε στη γερμανική εφημερίδα Handelsblatt, ότι η εταιρία δεν πρέπει να κάνει άλλες εξαγορές. Όπως δήλωσε χαρακτηριστικά, ήδη ο όμιλος έχει 12 εταιρίες και αρχικός του στόχος είναι να σταθεροποιήσει τις υπάρχουσες εταιρίες. Παραδέχτηκε ότι η ασιατική αγορά είναι σημαντική για την επίτευξη του στόχου του 2018, ο οποίος δεν είναι άλλος, από το να γίνει η μεγαλύτερη αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία του κόσμου πουλώντας 10 εκατ. αυτοκίνητα ετησίως, αλλά ανέφερε ότι αν προχωρήσουν στην εξαγορά της Μαλαισιανής Proton, τα εργατικά συνδικάτα θα αντιδράσουν.
Παράλληλα, η Volkswagen ανακοίνωσε σήμερα τις πωλήσεις της για τον Ιούλιο οι οποίες αυξήθηκαν κατά 11,9% αφού πουλήθηκαν 468.300 αυτοκίνητα (418.600 το 2011). Από την αρχή του έτους, η Volkswagen έχει πουλήσει 3.26 εκατ. αυτοκίνητα, αύξηση κατά 10,4% σε σχέση με το 2011, που την ίδια χρονική περίοδο είχε πουλήσει 2.95 εκατ. αυτοκίνητα. Volkswagen delivers more cars in period to July / +10.4 percent
Wolfsburg, 22 August 2012 – The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand handed over 3.26 (January-July 2011: 2.95; +10.4 percent) million vehicles to customers worldwide from January to July. The brand recorded an increase of 11.9 percent to 468,300 (July 2011: 418,600) units for the month of July. “The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand has grown global deliveries further despite the continued difficult market situation, above all in Western Europe”, Christian Klingler, Board Member for Sales and Marketing for the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, said in Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand handed over 1.05 (1.02; +2.5 percent) million vehicles to customers on the overall European market in the first seven months of the year. This contrasted with the situation in Western Europe (excluding Germany), where deliveries were 5.0 percent down on the comparable prior-year period as a result of the current market situation and totaled 528,200 (556,200) units. The trend in Central and Eastern Europe was noticeably positive, with a 40.4 percent rise to 157,100 (111,900). Deliveries in Russia continued to develop at a high level and ran at 95,600 (56,500; +69.2 percent) units. In the home market of Germany, Volkswagen Passenger Cars handed over 361,400 (352,700; +2.5 percent) vehicles to customers.
In the Asia-Pacific region, the brand grew deliveries 15.1 percent in the period to July, handing over 1.27 (1.10) million units. 1.14 (0.99; +15.2 percent) million vehicles were delivered in China (incl. Hong Kong), the region’s largest single market, during the same period. Volkswagen Passenger Cars also continued to develop very well on the American continent. Deliveries in the North America region grew 23.4 percent to 346,700 (280,900) vehicles. At 245,700 (183,200; +34.1 percent), the number of vehicles handed over to customers in the United States, the region’s largest single market, was also noticeably higher than the comparable prior-year period. In the South America region, deliveries rose by 6.4 percent to 472,700 (444,100) units.
