Αν είσαι λάτρης των Ariel Atom και KTM X-Bow, η αυστραλέζικη Quantum Performance Vehicles, ανακοίνωσε το Quantum GP700, το πρώτο της αυτοκίνητο που μηχανικά φορά έναν 2,7-λίτρων τετρακύλινδρο κινητήρα με δύο κομπρέσορες, απόδοσης 700 ίππων με 654 Nm ροπής στις 6.500 σ.α.λ, που συνδυάζεται με ένα 6-τάχυτο σειριακό κιβώτιο ταχυτήτων της Holinger.
Ζυγίζει 700 κιλά, κάνοντας το να έχει αναλογία κιλών/ίππο 1:1, όπως ακριβώς και η Koenigsegg One:1. Αυτός ο πύραυλος εδάφους-εδάφους κάνει τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα σε 2,6 δευτερόλεπτα, τα 0-160 χλμ/ώρα σε 5 δευτερόλεπτα, μπορεί να παράγει 1,9 Gs σε αργές στροφές και έως και 2,5 Gs σε στροφές με ταχύτητα 180 χλμ/ώρα, με την τελική ταχύτητα να αγγίζει τα 280 χλμ/ώρα. Σε ότι αφορά τα φρένα του, είναι ικανά να παράγουν 2 Gs.
Το Quantum GP700, μπορεί να κινηθεί νόμιμα στον δρόμο, θα πωλείται σε όλο το κόσμο και θα συνοδεύεται από πρόγραμμα υποστήριξης, σαν αυτά που προσφέρει η Ferrari στο Corse Clienti πρόγραμμα. Η παραγωγή του θα είναι περιορισμένη, αλλά η τιμή του ξεφεύγει μιας και αναμένεται να κοστίζει περισσότερα από 600.000 ευρώ. Η εταιρία ετοιμάζει και μια πιο προσιτή έκδοση με hardtop.
