Όπως είχαμε διαβάσει στις αρχές του μήνα η Lotus είχε ανακοινώσει ότι η Exige S Roadster θα περάσει στη παραγωγή μέσα στο καλοκαίρι και τώρα μαθαίνουμε περισσότερες τεχνικές λεπτομέρειες για το αυτοκίνητο.
Αυτό φορά τον κομπρεσοράτο V6 3,5-λίτρων κινητήρα απόδοσης 350 ίππων με 400 Nm ροπής και συνδυάζεται είτε με ένα 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό κιβώτιο είτε με το αυτόματο SPS (Serial Precision Shift) κάνοντας τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα σε 4 δευτ. με τη τελική ταχύτητα να περιορίζεται ηλεκτρονικά στα 233 χλμ/ώρα.
Είναι 10 κιλά ελαφρύτερη από τη coupe έκδοση και έτσι το 1.2 τόνου αυτοκίνητο έχει μια εκπληκτική αναλογία 3.3 κιλών ανά ίππο, αρκετά καλύτερη από τα 4.16 κιλά/ίππο που είχε η προηγούμενη τετρακύλινδρη Exige S. Καταναλώνει 10,1 λίτρα/100 χλμ εκπέμποντας 236 γρ/χλμ. και θα πωλείται σε Ευρώπη και Ασία με τους Βρετανούς να μην έχουνε στα πλάνα τους να την πάνε στην απέναντι μεριά του ατλαντικού.
Στην Ευρώπη θα ξεκινάει από τα €55.378 χωρίς τους φόρους.
