THE NEW GENERATION OF A-CLASS from INDEN / BINZ
The fact that Mercedes-Benz A-Class in the meantime has definitely„outgrown“ of the category minivan, should be at the latest sufficiently demonstrated by version W 176 of the compact car from Stuttgart, available since 2012. The fascinating new generation is relatively flat compared with its predecessors.
To make a good thing even better is always a noble goal. And if two professionals join forces, then the result must be just twice good. This happened through the trial cooperation of the noble tuner company INDEN Design in Rhineland-Palatinate city Rennerod with the BINZsport company in Lorch, which is known for its small series as well as custom-built show cars (Baden-Württemberg to the west of Schwäbisch Gmünd). The declared goal was to stir up the latest generation of Daimler’s A-class. And the tandem represented here will certainly draw attention in any showroom – wherever it may be.
There is on the one hand a decent dark grey W 176, which was already given a jump start by factory-made AMG-optical-package. This „package” includes front and rear bumper and side skirts. In addition, at the bottom front section a self-designed and accordingly custom-made flap from real carbon is mounted over the entire width of the vehicle. The original covers of the side skirts have been replaced and now are also made of high strong, ultra-light, and wickedly expensive material. We have to report a rear diffuser in relation to the rear – of course also made of real carbon – with openings for AMG tailpipes of the C 63 AMG Black Series. For this undertaking the standard exhaust system has to be modified, to make it suitable for these tailpipe openings. Finally, BBS CH-R-rims in 8,5 x 19 inch, which were obviously specially designed for exactly this vehicle with tires of the dimension 225/35R19 on the front axle, respectively 9,5 x 19 with 255/30R19 on the rear axle. And to optimize the dynamics, a deeply set coil – over is fully installed.
On the other hand, his „opponent“ is in bold red. This original AMG- optical-package was also supplemented with the real carbon-flap at the front as well as the covers of the side skirts were replaced, however the black parts made of real carbon contrast in colour now. The same it is with the rear diffuser and the exhaust system as in case with the „brother“. The connection between car and road is taken over in this case by completely matt black rims Barracuda Shoxx with dimensions 9 x 19 inch with tyres 235/35R19er. Since the sport shock absorbers, installed by the manufacturer from the Mercedes package, were retained, the lowering by 35 mm over the suspension springs took place.
It’s out of the question that this first cooperation between two professionals is a great success. It will be followed by other with absolute certainty. By the way, the first joint trade fair will be a Mercedes – meeting in Hattingen. It will also be followed by others.
