ONE-OF-A-KIND 2015 FORD MUSTANG 50 YEARS CONVERTIBLE BEING RAFFLED TO SUPPORT MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

A single 2015 Ford Mustang 50 Years convertible will be produced for raffle, with proceeds supporting multiple sclerosis research

The Mustang GT being raffled is the only 2015 convertible to be built with a performance pack and select content from the 50 Year Limited Edition fastback

The winning ticket will be selected in Mustang Alley on Aug. 16, 2014 during the annual Woodward Dream Cruise

Ford continues its longstanding support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society by offering a one-of-a-kind 2015 Mustang 50 Years convertible to be raffled off this summer. The winner of this exclusive convertible featuring select content from the 50 Year Limited Edition fastback will be announced in Mustang Alley in Ferndale, Mich., on Aug. 16, 2014 during the annual Woodward Dream Cruise.

“We’re thrilled to be able to work with and help The National MS Society again,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, global product development. “As pleased as we are to be able to help financially with the Society’s No Opportunity Wasted research project, we also feel it’s important to help raise greater awareness of this terrific program. That we’re creating one – and only one – Mustang GT 50 Years convertible for the Society shows how much we respect and support their efforts.”

The car will be among the first regular production 2015 Mustang GT convertibles built this fall. Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 generating more than 420 horsepower and more than 390 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. This will be the only 2015 Mustang convertible built with a special performance pack that includes 19-inch Pirelli P-Zero summer tires, Brembo six-piston painted front brake calipers and a limited-slip differential.

Like the recently announced 50 Year Limited Edition fastback, the convertible features a number of unique elements that distinguish it from other 2015 Mustangs:

Wimbledon White exterior paint
Chrome-accented grille with corralled pony emblem
Chrome accents around the tri-bar taillamp lenses
Axle spin-finish aluminum instrument panel trim
Rear decklid badge with “GT 50 Years” identification
Two-tone cashmere and black leather seats
Contrasting cashmere stitching on instrument panel, steering wheel, shift boot, door inserts and seats
Loop-carpet floor mats with cashmere stitching and suede binding
19-inch Y-spoke wheels inspired by the chrome steel wheels offered on original Mustang
Owner’s guide in a leather portfolio with “50 Years” badge on the outside

This special Mustang also includes a badge on the instrument panel, engraved with the signature of Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford, and serial number 0001 of 0001.

A limited number of raffle tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through National MS Society, Michigan Chapter and Ford Motor Company, while supplies last. Tickets are $20 each. Ticket requests can be placed online anytime at www.ford4ms.com. Raffle tickets can also be reserved by phone at 800.243.5767 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday.

The winner does not need to be present when the lucky ticket is drawn at the Woodward Dream Cruise. The winner is responsible for title, taxes and registration.

Ford Australia has confirmed that the celebration FPV GT F sedan, to be launched in June this year, will be powered by a 351 kilowatt supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine.

Developed to pay homage to the 351-cubic-inch-5.8-litre V8 Falcon GTs of the early 1970s, which made the model so iconic on the race tracks and streets of Australia, the limited-edition FPV GT F sedan will also be the most powerful Falcon GT ever produced by Ford’s Broadmeadows plant.

To produce this landmark sedan, FPV’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine has had its engine and transmission electronic control systems recalibrated, to produce a benchmark-setting 351kW of power at 6,000 rpm.

That’s up 16 kW from the most powerful previous model FPVs, including the most recent limited-edition GT RSPEC in 2012.

“I am delighted to confirm that we are going to deliver what our fans have being asking for -V a vehicle that pays homage to the iconic Falcon 351 GT,” Ford Australia President and CEO, Bob Graziano, said.

“Ford’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 is an absolute state-of-the-art V8 performance engine, and in the up-coming GT F sedan will deliver more power and torque than even its larger capacity forebear. And we’ve been able to do all of this by simply unlocking the latent performance that’s already there.”

The 351 GT name is synonymous with Australia’s racing heritage formed at racing circuits throughout the country, including the celebrated 1000km enduro at Bathurst.

The GT F sedan will also sport iconic GT F 351 badging with inset orange colouring on the -‘GT’ script of the badge, harking back to Ford’s heroic race-bred GTs.

To achieve the engine’s landmark output, Ford’s engineering team developed an updated version of its Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software which, combined with a unique calibration strategy and torque management techniques, has provided a number of improvements in engine and vehicle performance while ensuring the vehicle meets Ford’s durability requirements.

Specifically, the new software has delivered improved functionality of the boost control system, enabling finer tuning of the supercharger for further optimisation of the power and torque output of the engine.

This electronic management has also ensured that while power is improved, no extra load has been placed on the driveline or the engine components themselves, ensuring continued durability.

As a result of this fine tuning, maximum torque remains at 570 Nm of torque from 2,500 – 5,500 rpm. However, peak torque is produced for as long as possible throughout the full engine rev range, making the new GT F sedan even more responsive on the road or for track days.

The chief program engineer for Falcon and FPV, Peter de Leur, said the electronic refinements had resulted not only in improved performance times but importantly, an increased vehicle performance feel reflecting the strong results observed from the initial dyno work done on the engine.

“Ultimately too, apart from outright performance, our FPV customers expect their vehicles to have high levels of refinement and all-round driveability,” he said.

“For all of those reasons we believe that the GT F 351 will be one of the most collectable FPVs ever.”

The GT F 351 will boast the superior handling capabilities of the acclaimed GT RSPEC, featuring the same significantly recalibrated suspension package, to deliver racetrack-inspired handling, and better traction.

Wide 9-inch rear wheels with 275/35 R19 Dunlop Sports Maxx tyres will also enhance cornering grip and acceleration from standstill, while an automatically enabled launch control feature will tailor torque delivery to ensure launch performance is optimised and drive quality uncompromised on typical road surfaces.

The FPV GT option of Brembo 6-piston front and 4 piston rear brakes will be standard on the GT F 351.

Visually, the design cues of the GT F 351 can be traced back to Ford GTs of the past, with the team developing a ‘stealth’ stripe design package that is evocative of the blacked-out highlights from Ford muscle cars of the 1970s, complimented by distinctive GT F badging.

The GT F 351 will be available in five colour variants from the Ford palette, Winter White, Kinetic (blue), Silhouette (black), Octane (orange) and Smoke (dark grey).

The GT F 351 will feature standard matte black stripes across all colours, plus a performance white option on Kinetic only and metallic gold available on Silhouette. Silver stripe options will be available on Smoke and Silhouette.

“The GT F is a celebration of the GT and of Ford’s history in Australia and our dedicated team have made sure this vehicle can stand proudly beside any GT products of the past – and any Ford performance vehicles in future,” Ford Australia President and CEO, Bob Graziano, said.

“Importantly, too these passionate staff will continue to design Ford vehicles into the future as part of Ford’s 1100 strong design and engineering base in Australia.”

For FPV ute buyers, a limited-edition new look Pursuit Ute will be powered by the impressive all-aluminium supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, which produces 315 kW of power at 5,750 rpm and 545 Nm of torque @ 2,000 – 5,500 rpm.

Featuring the design cues of the GT F including the unique stripe package, the Pursuit Ute will be limited to just 120 units.

The Pursuit Ute will feature a GT front bar, F6 side-skirts and GT wheels and will be available in the same colour palette and stripe package options as the GT F.

The GT F sedan has a Manufacturer’s List Pricing of $77,990* and the FPV V8 Pursuit Ute is $52,990.*

*This is the Manufacturer’s List Price for the vehicle only. A number of other components, including a dealer delivery fee, stamp duty, registration, compulsory third party insurance and other statutory charges may be payable by a customer in relation to the purchase of this vehicle. The final transaction price will be as negotiated by the customer with their chosen FPV Dealer.
