Η Kia και η Hyundai ανακοίνωσαν ότι ανακαλούν στην Αμερική 300.800 αυτοκίνητα σε δύο διαφορετικές καμπάνιες, εξαιτίας ενός προβλήματος στους εφεδρικούς γάντζους των καπό.

Η πρώτη ανάκληση αφορά 219.800 Kia Sedona, με ημερομηνία κατασκευής από 15 Ιουνίου του 2005, μέχρι 4 Απριλίου του 2014, ενώ η δεύτερη καλύπτει 81.000 Hyundai Tucson, με κατασκευή από 19 Μαΐου του 2015 μέχρι 14 Μαρτίου του 2016.

Για το Sedona, η Kia αναφέρει ότι ο εφεδρικός γάντζος του καπό μπορεί να σκουριάσει και να μην “δένει” σωστά, κάτι που σημαίνει ότι αν ο κύριος γάντζος ανοίξει κατά την διάρκεια της οδήγησης, ο δεύτερος μπορεί να σπάσει και να ανοίξει το καπό.

Από την άλλη, για το Tucson, η Hyundai αναφέρει ότι αν ο κύριο γάντζος ανοίξει στην οδήγηση, η δεύτερη μονάδα μπορεί να μην καταφέρει να συγκρατήσει ασφαλώς το καπό, με αποτέλεσμα πάλι αυτό να ανοίξει.

SUMMARY:

Kia Motors Corporation (Kia) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Kia Sedona vehicles manufactured from June 15, 2005, through April 04, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.

CONSEQUENCE:

If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

REMEDY:

Kia will notify owners and dealers will replace the secondary hood latch or clean and lubricate the latch, depending on the vehicle’s location and the condition of the latch. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on July 25, 2016. Owners may contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542. Kia’s recall number is SC134.

SUMMARY:

Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2016 Tucson vehicles manufactured May 19, 2015 to March 14, 2016. In the affected vehicles, if the primary hood latch has been released, and the vehicle is driven, the secondary hood latch may not hold adequately secure the hood to prevent it from opening while the vehicle is in motion.

CONSEQUENCE:

If the primary hood latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch cannot secure the hood, the hood may unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:

Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the secondary hood latch, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 15, 2016. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 145.
