Οι φήμες για τη συνεργασία των δύο εταιρειών υπήρχαν από το 2015, ωστόσο οι Red Bull Racing και Aston Martin περίμεναν μέχρι τον Μάρτιο για να μας δώσουν τις επίσημες ανακοινώσεις. Η βρετανική εταιρεία δεν μπήκε απλώς ο χορηγός στη Formula 1, αφού η συνεργασία των δύο συνεχίστηκε σε τεχνικό επίπεδο.
Ο καρπός του έρωτάς τους ονομάζεται AM-RB 001 και είναι το «απόλυτο hypercar», αφού θα προκύψει από τους Adrian Newey, που είναι ο γκουρού του σχεδιασμού σε όλη τη Formula 1, μαζί με τον Marek Reichman, επί κεφαλής σχεδιασμού της βρετανικής εταιρείας, με την απόδοσή του να ανεβαίνει ακόμα και στα 1.000 ατμοσφαιρικά άλογα!
Σήμερα, οι δύο εταιρείες ανακοίνωσαν πως επεκτείνουν τη συνεργασίας τους, όσον αφορά το εμπορικό κομμάτι. Τα λογότυπα των Βρετανών θα βρίσκονται στην RB13 του 2017, κάτι που μάλλον ήταν αναμενόμενο, μιας και έχουν δημιουργηθεί ισχυροί δεσμοί μεταξύ τους. Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin set to fly further in 2017. Following a groundbreaking and hugely exciting first year of collaboration, Red Bull Racing is delighted to announce that it’s Innovation Partnership with Aston Martin is to continue in 2017, with the sports car manufacturer’s wings logo set to adorn the team’s cars for another season of Formula One action.
Ahead of this year’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix, the Team and the iconic sports car manufacturer announced details of a unique project – the development of the ultimate hypercar, the AM-RB 001.
A fusion of Red Bull Racing’s cutting edge Formula One technology and Aston Martin’s world-renowned sport car design, the AM-RB 001 was penned by legendary F1 designer and Red Bull Racing Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey in association with Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichmann and Chief Special Operations Officer, David King.
And almost as soon as the ink was dry on the final design the order book for the 175 examples – including 25 track-only specials – began to quickly fill up. All 150 road-going cars are now sold and customer deliveries of the F1-inspired hypercar will begin in early 2019.
In advance of that date, the successful partnership between the two performance-oriented companies will continue through the 2017 season by the end of which a prototype of the AM-RB 001 is expected to run for the first time.
