Στο περίπτερο της Cadillac δεσπόζουσα θέση είχε το premium sedan της εταιρίας, το ATS. Το αυτοκίνητο πρόσφατα πήρε το βραβείο “Car of the Year” από το Esquire και έχει κατασκευαστεί έτσι ώστε να τεθεί απέναντι από τα Αudi A4, BMW Σειράς 3 και Mercedes C-Class. Διαθέτει ενεργή γρίλια η οποία κλείνει αυτόματα όταν το αυτοκίνητο κινείται με μεγάλη ταχύτητα, έτσι ώστε να μειώνει τις αεροδυναμικές τριβές, μειώνοντας έτσι την κατανάλωση. Όπως βλέπουμε διαθέτει LED φωτιστικά σώματα, πατά πάνω σε 17″ ζάντες αλουμινίου, έχει αεροτομή στο πορτμπαγκάζ και πολλά χρωμιομένα διακοσμητικά. Στο εσωτερικό του ξεχωρίζουν οι δερμάτινες επενδύσεις, τα ξύλινα και τα αλουμινένια διακοσμητικά, ο ψηφιακός πίνακας οργάνων, το νέο σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας CUE και σύστημα ήχου της Bose.
Το αυτοκίνητο έχει κατασκευαστεί πάνω στην πισωκίνητη πλατφόρμα Alpha και μηχανικά φορά τον νέο 4-κύλινδρο δίλιτρο turbo κινητήρα απόδοσης 274 ίππων με 353 Nm ροπής, με τον ατμοσφαιρικό 2.5-λιτρο απόδοσης 203 ίππων με 255 Nm ροπής καθώς και με τον V6 3.6-λίτρων απόδοσης 322 ίππων με 362 Nm ροπής. Όλοι συνδυάζονται είτε με ένα 6-τάχυτο χειροκίνητο ή αυτόματο κιβώτιο ενώ υπάρχει και σύστημα τετρακίνησης στον επιπλέον εξοπλισμό.
Το νέο ATS είναι πισωκίνητο με αναλογία βάρους 51/49 και ζυγίζει 1.542 κιλά και η μπροστά ανάρτηση αποτελείται από διπλά γόνατα MacPherson ενώ η πίσω ανάρτηση είναι ανεξάρτητη 5 συνδέσμων. Στον επιπλέον εξοπλισμό υπάρχει η σπορ ανάρτηση FE3 η οποία διαθέτει το σύστημα Magnetic Ride Control, μπλοκέ διαφορικό και φρένα της Brembo. Στον επιπλέον εξοπλισμό υπάρχει ενεργό cruise contol, ένα έξυπνο σύστημα φρεναρίσματος και προειδοποίησης σύγκρουσης, σύστημα ελέγχου αλλαγής λωρίδας και κάμερα οπισθοπορείας. Στο περίπτερο της Cadillac θα υπάρχει επίσης το SRX, το CTS-V με 564 άλογα αλλά και η Escalade Hybrid.

Zurich – The all-new ATS sedan takes center stage on Cadillac’s stand at the upcoming Paris Motor Show just weeks before going on sale in Europe.
Focused on challenging the established leaders in Europe’s premium compact segment, the ATS is based on an all-new, light weight rear-drive architecture. It majors on agile handling and impressive performance – zero to 100 km/h is just 5.9 secs – from a highly efficient 276 hp/203 kW, 2.0-liter turbo engine.
The ATS gives Cadillac access to the world’s largest-selling premium car segment and is a significant next step in its renaissance as a successful, global luxury brand.
“The arrival of the ATS now gives us a very strong contender in the biggest-selling segment of the premium class,” says Wolfgang Schubert, Cadillac Europe Managing Director. “The ATS is quick, nimble and great fun to drive. It will appeal to buyers who appreciate a car with superb handling qualities that also stands out from the crowd. We’re confident the ATS has all it takes to go head-to-head with its competitors.”
Three examples in final production specification will be displayed. Sales commence in October and customer deliveries will begin in December.

Cadillac ATS Wins 2012 Esquire Car of the Year

NEW YORK – The all-new Cadillac ATS is the 2012 Esquire Car of the Year, editors of the men’s fashion and culture magazine announced today. The award is featured at Esquire.com and in the October print and digital editions to be released September 18.
“The new ATS is Cadillac’s spirited challenger, built to take on the world,” says Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac Marketing. “Having its design and performance validated in this fashion is a meaningful step in our journey.”
Cadillac’s new sport sedan, arriving in U.S. dealerships now, was chosen by Esquire from a field of the world’s finest new cars.
“It’s been heartening to watch the American auto industry re-assert itself over the last couple of years,” says David Granger, editor-in-chief of Esquire. “The ATS is an exciting new chapter in that process—a balls to the wall effort at reinvention. It’s fantastic.”
In addition to the Car of the Year award, Esquire’s October issue contains a long-form feature documenting the making of the ATS, from design to manufacturing, which began recently in Lansing, Mich.
A compact sport sedan, smaller than Cadillac’s centerpiece CTS product line, the new ATS is the lightest car in its class with a unique architecture designed for nimble driving performance. The new ATS is offered in rear- and all-wheel drive versions, with a choice of powerful and efficient four and six-cylinder engines.
The new ATS debuted to millions of television and online viewers during the recent Summer Olympics. The unique campaign, called “ATS vs. The World” resumes in September, demonstrating the car’s performance in a series of cinematic challenges.
