2013 YouTube Ad Blitz Winners Revealed
This year’s game day was was full of action – both on and off the field. After the Ravens and 49ers battled it out during the game, you went online to vote for your favorite game day commercial in our annual YouTube Ad Blitz contest. After a week of intense competition, we’ve tallied the final votes and you chose Chrysler Group’s “Farmer” commercial as your favorite ad of the big game!
Rounding out the top five commercials of the big game are spots from Budweiser, Samsung, Jeep, and Hyundai:

From celebrity cameos to poetic images, these commercials represent the game day ads that resonated most with viewers online. In addition to being the highest voted ads on Ad Blitz, the five spots combined racked up more than 61M views on YouTube in two weeks.

In addition to being the highest voted ads on Ad Blitz, the five spots combined generated more than 61 million views on YouTube in two weeks – making up more than 30 percent of all total views of game day ads and teasers on YouTube so far (as of 5/14).

Why did the Ram spot make it to #1?
Sometimes in a very noisy environment, a quiet, intimate tone speaks louder than than all the competing noise. Paul Harvey- his voice, his credibility; his association with the heartland; his folksy paean to a place and time we all felt was lost, lent an authenticity and a heartfelt note to the aspirations of a country that sometimes seems to have strayed from its moral compass. Ram’s, “The Farmer” hit a soft spot we all may have forgotten we had.
What’s the correlation between voting results and views?
What we see time over time is that advertising that’s successful tells a story, taps into an emotion, enhances our time rather than just interrupting it. Voting results mirror the sentiments of the audience- what resonated most collects the most votes. Views accrued tells us which spots are most popular.
