To πρωτότυπο crossover που παρουσίασε η Citroen στη Κίνα είναι το C-XR Concept. Πρόκειται για το πρωτότυπο που μας δείχνει το μελλοντικό crossover παραγωγής της Citroen, το οποίο θα παρουσιαστεί είτε στα τέλη του 2014, είτε στις αρχές του 2015 και θα αποτελεί το αδερφάκι του Peugeot 2008.
Το πρωτότυπο έχει σχεδιαστεί από την Dongfeng και την Citroen, περιγράφεται ως ένα “δυναμικό SUV” και έχει μια αρκετά επιθετική μπροστά μάσκα με χαρακτηριστική γρίλια που πλαισιώνεται από ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά φωτιστικά σώματα. Στο σώμα υπάρχουν πλαστικές επιφάνειες, αλουμινένιες ράγες οροφής και ζάντες αλουμινίου 17″. Στο πίσω μέρος υπάρχει μια ψηλά τοποθετημένη αεροτομή, μεγάλα 3D φώτα και διπλές απολήξεις εξατμίσεων.
Έχει μεταξόνιο 2,65 μέτρων, προσφέροντας έτσι τον μεγαλύτερο χώρο για τους πίσω επιβάτες σε σχέση με αυτοκίνητα της κατηγορίας του, και μηχανικά φορά τον THP 160 βενζινοκινητήρα με σύστημα start/stop, που στέλνει τη κίνηση στους μπροστά τροχούς, ενώ διαθέτει και το σύστημα Grip Control που αρχικά είδαμε στο DS 6WR.
