Mercedes-Maybach S 600 (X 222) 2014

Η Mercedes-Benz έδωσε τις πρώτες δύο φωτογραφίες της S-Class Maybach που θα παρουσιαστεί επίσημα στην έκθεση του Los Angeles στις 18 του μηνός. Το αυτοκίνητο απευθύνεται στους -πολύ- πλούσιους πελάτες που υπό φυσιολογικές συνθήκες, θα αγόραζαν ένα μοντέλο της Bentley. Η Mercedes θα τοποθετήσει το όνομα “Maybach” μόνο στις V12 εκδόσεις της ναυαρχίδας της, δηλαδή στις S600 (530 άλογα) και S65 AMG (630 άλογα).


Η Mercedes-Benz S600 Maybach θα τεθεί απέναντι από τις Bentley Mulsanne και Rolls-Royce Phantom. Θα κοστίζει περί τα €200.000 στην απλή έκδοση (θα είναι διαθέσιμη και θωρακισμένη) και θα είναι εξοπλισμένη με ότι υπάρχει διαθέσιμο στους καταλόγους της S-Class, όπως ανακλινόμενα πίσω καθίσματα, υποπόδια, ενώ η λογική επιβάλλει και κάποιου είδους διαφοροποίηση στο design σε σύγκριση με τις «απλές» S-Class αλλά περαιτέρω πληροφορίες δεν υπάρχουν. Το μεταξόνιο της θα είναι κατά 254 mm μεγαλύτερο από αυτό της S-Class LWB, με το μήκος της να φτάνει τα 5.500-5.6000 mm και θα διαθέτει τρίτα πίσω παράθυρα, με το τρίτο να μην βρίσκεται πάνω στις πόρτες, όπως συμβαίνει στις S-Class και S-Class LWB, αλλά πάνω στις πίσω κολώνες.

Η νέα S-Class, η οποία μετρά ήδη 100.000 πωλήσεις, θα είναι συνολικά διαθέσιμη σε 6 εκδόσεις, 4 sedan, coupe και cabrio, με τις sedan να έχει τέσσερα διαφορετικά μεταξόνιο 5,12 μέτρων, 5,25 μέτρων, 5,45 μέτρων και 6,4 μέτρων, την S-Class Pullman που θα κοστίζει περίπου 1 εκατομμύριο ευρώ (στην θωρακισμένη εκδοχή της), θα έχει διάταξη 2+2+2 θέσεων και μεταξόνιο κατά 1 μέτρα μεγαλύτερο από αυτό της απλής S-Class. H Mercedes σκέφτεται να κάνει τη Maybach υπο-brand, όπως την AMG, και μετά την S-Class Maybach θα ακολουθήσουν και άλλα υπερπολυτελή μοντέλα (GL και S-Class Coupe και cabrio).

With the name Mercedes-Maybach, the brand represented by the three-pointed star is now broadening its offering in the exclusive top segment of the market with a new sub-brand, whose individual and prestigious exclusivity will appeal to status-conscious customers. Before the end of this November, the new Mercedes-Maybach S 600 will be celebrating its world premiere in Guangzhou and Los Angeles. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class melds the perfection of the best automobile in the world, the S-Class, with the exclusivity of Maybach. In a further move, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer of premium automobiles will start 2015 by launching a new nomenclature, the system used for the designation of its various model series and engine types, so providing its customers with a simple and transparent way to find their bearings around its ever-growing portfolio of models.
