Μετά από teasers και διαρροές, η Renault παρουσίασε το Alaskan, το πρώτο της pickup ενός τόνου. Όταν ουσιαστικά ένα Nissan Navara NP300, με γαλλικές επιρροές, το Alaskan παρουσιάστηκε στην Κολομβία, με την Renault να στοχεύει στις αγορές της Λατινικής Αμερικής και της Αφρικής με το συγκεκριμένο μοντέλο, το οποίο θα πωλείται αργότερα και στην Ευρώπη.

Το pickup φορά τον 2,3-λίτρων dCi κινητήρα με δύο turbo, με το μικρότερο να λειτουργεί στις χαμηλές στροφές πριν πάρει τον έλεγχο ένα μεγαλύτερο, στις υψηλότερες στροφές. Ο κινητήρας προσφέρεται σε δύο εκδόσεις 160 και 190 ίππων, με το pickup να έχει ικανότητα ρυμούλκησης 3,5 τόνων.

Επίσης, ανάλογα με τις αγορές, θα προσφέρεται και ένας κινητήρας βενζίνης 160 ίππων, όπως και ένας πετρελαιοκινητήρας 2,5-λίτρων απόδοσης 160 και 190 ίππων. Οι κινητήρες θα συνδυάζονται με 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό και 7-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο ταχυτήτων, που θα στέλνουν την κίνηση είτε στους δύο, είτε σε όλους τους τροχούς. Τα τετρακίνητα μοντέλα διαθέτουν ηλεκτρονικό διαφορικό περιορισμένης ολίσθησης, με την Renault να προσφέρει επίσης πίσω διαφορικό με κεντρικό κλείδωμα.

Η απόσταση από το έδαφος ανέρχεται στα 23 εκατοστά και στο εσωτερικό συναντάμε μια έγχρωμη οθόνη 5″, σύστημα τεσσάρων καμερών που προσφέρουν 360 μοιρών εικόνα, αλλά και ένα σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας με οθόνη 7″ στον πρόσθετο εξοπλισμό.

Η παραγωγή του Alaskan για την Ευρωπαϊκή αγορά θα γίνεται στο εργοστάσιο της Nissan στη Βαρκελώνη της Ισπανίας, εκεί όπου μαζί με το Navara, θα κατασκευάζεται και το αγροτικό που ετοιμάζει η Mercedes. Επίσης τα τρία pickup θα κατασκευάζονται ακόμη σε Μεξικό και Αργεντινή. Αρχικά το Alaskan θα πωλείται στην αγορά της Κολομβίας, αργότερα μέσα στο έτος, με τις υπόλοιπες αγορές της Νοτίου Αμερικής να ακολουθούν. Στην Αφρική και στην Ευρώπη οι πωλήσεις του θα ξεκινήσουν μέσα στο 2017.

Renault, a LCV expert worldwide

Renault is a major LCV player worldwide with 18 years of leadership in Europe and strong positions in many countries all over the world thanks to its wide range of vans and dedicated services.

In September 2015, to address the needs of LCV customers more directly and clearly, Renault launched a global expert brand with a large panel of services dedicated to these customers: Renault Pro+. Through this expert brand, Renault will provide LCV customers with tailor-made products and services and a highly-trained specialist network.

Light commercial vehicles are a major strategic market especially in Latin America. In 2015, 15 million LCVs has been sold in the world and the segment pick-ups account for more than one-third of total LCV sales: 5 million units worldwide.
