Το Ford Mondeo Titanium και Titanium S σύντομα διαθέσιμο και με 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό κιβώτιο

H Ford ανακοίνωσε ότι πλέον οι δυνατές εκδόσεις Titanium και Titanium S, του ανανεωμένου Mondeo με τον 2.0-λιτρο turbo EcoBoost κινητήρα των 203 και 240 ίππων από τα τέλη του 2011, θα είναι διαθέσιμο και με 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό κιβώτιο αφού μέχρι στιγμής είναι διαθέσιμο με το 6-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο διπλού συμπλέκτη PowerShift. Fastest-Ever Ford Mondeo Combines 2.0-litre EcoBoost Engine with Six-Speed Manual Transmission

• Mondeo Titanium and Mondeo Titanium S available with 2.0-litre Ford EcoBoost engine (203PS and 240PS) and six-speed manual transmission.
• The 240PS version accelerates from 0-100 kph (0-62mph) in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 250 kph (155 mph), making it the fastest-ever Mondeo
• Will be available first to customers in Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland from the end of 2011
• Six-speed manual transmission and EcoBoost technology allows vehicle to achieve  176 g/km of CO2 emissions

COLOGNE, Germany, Sept. 23, 2011 – The fastest-ever production Ford Mondeo is hitting the streets in Europe later this year powered by a 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Mondeo Titanium and Titanium S with the 2.0-litre EcoBoost and six-speed will generate either 203PS or 240PS. The 240PS version accelerates from 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in 7.3 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kph (155 mph).

By combining the turbocharged, direct injection technology of its 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine with a six-speed manual transmission, Ford has been able not only to achieve a sporty and rewarding driver experience, but also to deliver a significantly improved environmental performance.

With a combined fuel economy of 7.6l/100km (37mpg)* the new Mondeo provides a 30 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency over the last performance Mondeo built by Ford – the Mondeo ST220, which was powered by a 226PS 3.0-litre V6. This also dramatically reduces CO2 emissions, down from 249g/km with the ST220 to 176g/km for the new 2.0-litre EcoBoost-powered Mondeo.

“This car will turn some heads on the autobahn – it’s quite simply the fastest Mondeo we have ever made,” said Klaus Scherzer, brand manager for large and luxury vehicles, Ford of Europe. “Just as importantly, the EcoBoost engine delivers excellent fuel economy.”

The six-speed manual gearbox is also available with the 203PS (149kW) 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine. Similarly, Ford S-MAX Titanium/Titanium S drivers will benefit from the same transmission offering when opting for a 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine. Production of this advanced vehicle/powertrain combination will begin at Ford’s Genk assembly plant in Belgium in October and will initially be available in Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland. Availability in other European markets is yet to be confirmed.
