Οι πωλήσεις του Fiat 500 δεν πάνε καθόλου καλά στην Αμερική και κάποιος έπρεπε να την πληρώσει. Έτσι η Chrysler ανακοίνωσε ότι η επικεφαλής της Fiat Αμερικής, η Laura Soave, πλέον αποτελεί παρελθόν από την εταιρία. Οι φήμες θέλουν την Soave να απομακρύνεται από την θέση της για ανάρμοστη επαγγελματική συμπεριφορά αλλά σίγουρο θεωρείται ότι οι μικρές πωλήσεις του 500 έπαιξαν ρόλο. Αντικαταστάτης της είναι ο Tim Kuniskis.


Αρχικός στόχος της Fiat ήταν οι 50.000 πωλήσεις τον χρόνο, ενώ από τον Μάρτη όπου ξεκίνησαν οι πωλήσεις του 500 μέχρι τα τέλη του Οκτώβρη, έχουνε πουληθεί 15.826 μονάδες. Οι 29 από τους 150 αντιπροσώπους, δεν έχουνε πουλήσει ούτε ένα 500αράκι μέσα στον Νοέμβριο.

Η Chrysler πλέον κάνει έκπτωση $500 σε κάθε 500αράκι έτσι ώστε προσελκύσουν πελάτες. Ο Sergio Marchionne δηλώνει ότι το πρόβλημα είναι στο δίκτυο διανομής, αλλά οι έμποροι υποστηρίζουν ότι οι Αμερικάνοι δεν ενδιαφέρονται για ένα τόσο μικρό αυτοκίνητο.

Chrysler Group Appoints Timothy Kuniskis Head of Fiat Brand for North America

November 21, 2011 , Auburn Hills, Mich. – Chrysler Group LLC today named Timothy Kuniskis Head of the Fiat Brand for North America. Kuniskis most recently served as Director for both the Chrysler Brand and Fiat Brand Product Marketing. The move is effective immediately.

In his new role, Kuniskis is responsible for the Fiat Brand in North America which includes leadership for Fiat Brand sales, marketing, dealer network and service. He will continue the reintroduction of the iconic brand including its newest vehicle the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth.

“Tim brings broad expertise and leadership in dealer operations and marketing where he has been already working with the team to shape the direction of the Fiat Brand,” said Sergio Marchionne, Chairman and CEO, Chrysler Group LLC. “As North American Head of Fiat, much of his immediate focus will be working with the dealer body where his fresh perspective from the operational side, as well as that on the commercial side, will begin the Fiat Brand’s next chapter.”

Kuniskis joined Chrysler in 1992 and since then has held a series of increasingly responsible positions in the Company’s business center operations and marketing organization.

2012 Fiat 500 shines during the 2011 American Music Awards

The new Fiat 500 makes an on stage appearance with Jennifer Lopez. The new 2012 Fiat 500 performed alongside Jennifer Lopez during her performance of “Papi”, at the 2011 American Music Awards® (AMAs) Sunday evening, held at the NOKIA Theatre L. A.

“The Fiat brand is honoured to share the stage with Jennifer Lopez at the 2011 American Music Awards. Her drive and determination is the common thread that is shared with the brand and our philosophy that “Life is Best When Driven”, said Olivier Francois, CEO of the Fiat Brand. “This appearance allows us to continue to expose the 2012 Fiat 500 to a wide demographic. These past few days have been momentous for FIAT as we have recently revealed the new 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.”

This September, the Fiat Brand announced its collaboration with Jennifer Lopez, which included placement of the 2012 Fiat 500 Cabrio in Lopez’s new music video, “Papi,” as well as in a 30-second trailer of the video. Lopez also appears in two additional commercials for the brand broadcast in the USA, “My World” and “Elegance,” which feature the Fiat 500 Cabrio and the Fiat 500 by Gucci models.
