Introducing the Porsche Panamera 3.0 Diesel V6 Supersport wide track by A.Kahn Design
It would be easy to look upon the Porsche Panamera as just another luxury vehicle conceived simply for greater profit.
But to do so would be to ignore one thing: Afzal Kahn has taken his hand to the Panamera, and whisper it, it is one of the new breed of luxury cars with as much of a focus on design and driving ability as on interior comfort and space.
Expanding the appeal of the Porsche Panamera by combining German engineering with quintessentially British styling is not entirely new territory to the man who embodies a brand and its identity.
This basalt black beauty may have four doors, a big boot and a diesel engine, but the Kahn DNA shines throughout and the principal British designer has ensured the Kahn Panamera looks and feels quite special – it is by far the most engaging in what is now a significant line-up of Panamera models.
Afzal Kahn has provided inherent balance to this vehicle thanks to an outstanding styling package consisting of vented front and rear wide wheel arches with integrated rear air dams, lower boot wing (inspired by the classic 911 turbo style tail), upper roof wing, brake calipers finished in liquid gold, sports lowered suspension springs, LED day time running lights for front wheel arch vents, Kahn enamel tailgate logo, Kahn enamel wing shields and door entry sill plates in stainless steel provide the driver with great confidence.
Driving the Kahn Porsche means you sit behind the privacy glass and pilot the engine while listening to the Kahn cross hair exhaust system.
Centered round a radical design and interconnected in order to coalesce design and engineering expression, the Kahn twin crosshair exhaust system (in matt black) is a first cousin only to silence and manners.
Inside is the ‘bespoke touch’, and these particular vehicles comes complete with front and rear seats in quilted and perforated black leather with grey alcantara inserts, alcantara sport steering wheel, piano black interior trim and floor mats.
The company philosophy is to always give the customers what they want, so Afzal Kahn could for example, design you a vehicle with full colour change (to a colour of your choice) and an interior akin to, let’s say, your favourite leather reclining chair in your living room. Customers could also change the colour of the clock, or indeed, ask for anything else.
Kahn wheels sit perfectly, on any vehicle, conveying the essence of the vehicle’s identity. Created using state of the art manufacturing and materials technology, the 9.5X22” (front) and 10.5x.22 (rear concave) Kahn RS-R wheels fit all original centre caps.
With simple clean lines, soft organic surfaces on the edge of the spoke and a purposeful mechanical centre, the RS-R wheels are synonymous with elegance and innovation.
