Το πρωτότυπο μας δείχνει τη σχεδιαστική φιλοσοφία που θα διαθέτει η επόμενη γενιά του μοντέλου, με το αυτοκίνητο να διαθέτει άγριο παρουσιαστικό, με snorkel, εξωτερικούς προβολείς και βίντζι για ρυμούλκηση. Έχει μήκος 4.316mm διαθέτει ανάρτηση με γόνατα McPherson μπροστά και ανεξάρτητη πίσω ανάρτηση.
Το Niva concept είναι δημιουργία της GM και AvtoVAZ θα συνεχίσει να διαθέτει τετρακίνηση, χωρίς να χάνει το σκληροτράχηλο χαρακτήρα του μετατρέποντας το σε soft crossover πόλης.

Μηχανικά θα φοράει έναν 1.800άρη κινητήρα προέλευσης PSA με απόδοση 135 ίππους, ο οποίος συνδυάζεται με ένα 5-τάχυτο χειροκίνητο κιβώτιο ταχυτήτων. Η παραγωγή του μοντέλου έχει οριστεί να ξεκινήσει τον προσεχή Δεκέμβριο, με την έξοδο της Chevrolet από την Ευρώπη να μην επηρεάζει την Ρωσία.
