Στις πιο πρόσφατες δοκιμές πρόσκρουσης που διεξήγαγε ο ευρωπαϊκός οργανισμός ασφαλείας Euro NCAP, δοκίμασε τα Alfa Romeo Giulia, SEAT Ateca και VW Tiguan, τα οποία απέσπασαν πέντε αστέρια, ακόμη και με τον βασικό εξοπλισμό ασφαλείας.
Ο Euro NCAP πλέον δοκιμάζει δυο εκδόσεις του ίδιου αυτοκινήτου, μια την βασική έκδοση ενός μοντέλου, όσο και την έκδοση με τον πλήρη εξοπλισμό. Σε ότι αφορά τα Alfa Romeo Giulia, SEAT Ateca και VW Tiguan, τα αυτοκίνητα διαθέτουν σύστημα αυτόματης πέδησης έκτακτης ανάγκης στον βασικό εξοπλισμό.
Η Alfa Romeo Giulia πήρε 98% στη προστασία ενηλίκων επιβατών (και ξεπέρασε το μέχρι πρότινος κορυφαίο 97% του Volvo XC90), 81% στη προστασία παιδιών, 69% στη προστασία πεζών και 60% στα συστήματα ασφαλείας. Η Giulia έχει αποσπάσει την υψηλότερη βαθμολογία που έχει πετύχει ποτέ ένα αυτοκίνητο, μεγαλύτερη από το Volvo XC90 (97% προστασία ενηλίκων) ακόμη και μετά την υιοθέτηση αυστηρότερων κριτηρίων από το σύστημα αξιολόγησης, το 2015. Πως το πέτυχε αυτό; Δύο ήταν τα βασικά στοιχεία σύμφωνα με την Alfa Romeo. Η υιοθέτηση μιας ευρείας σειράς καινοτόμων συστημάτων ασφαλείας, και, δεύτερον, η απόδοση του αμαξώματος που είναι εξίσου ελαφρύ και άκαμπτο, μέσα από την εκτεταμένη χρήση εξαιρετικά ελαφρών υλικών όπως τα ανθρακονήματα, το κράμα αλουμινίου και το πλαστικό.

Το SEAT Ateca συγκέντρωσε 93% στη προστασία ενηλίκων επιβατών, 84% στη προστασία παιδιών, 71% στη προστασία πεζών και 60% στα συστήματα ασφαλείας. Τέλος το VW Tiguan έχει 96% στη προστασία ενηλίκων επιβατών, 84% στη προστασία παιδιών, 72% στη προστασία πεζών και 68% στα συστήματα ασφαλείας.

Top of the Stops – AEB Makes an Impact

Brussels, 22 June 2016 – Three new models recently launched by European manufacturers have been independently tested for safety by Euro NCAP. The Alfa Romeo Giulia, the SEAT Ateca and the VW Tiguan all reached five stars with safety equipment which is fitted as standard throughout the European Union.
From the beginning of this year, Euro NCAP applies a Dual Rating scheme where the default rating issued is based on standard safety equipment available throughout the range. Manufacturers may apply for a second rating, showing the additional safety provided by an optional pack, however, the Giulia, Ateca and Tiguan come with superior standard safety equipment as standard throughout Europe.

All three vehicles offer autonomous emergency braking (AEB) systems that help to avoid or mitigate collisions between cars and with pedestrians. Testing of this important safety technology was introduced by Euro NCAP in 2014 for car crashes and this year for pedestrian crashes. The car industry has responded quickly and is fitting an increasing number of models with these life-saving systems.
Secretary General, Michiel van Ratingen, said: ‘Euro NCAP shows what can be achieved when governments, consumer groups and motoring clubs from across Europe collaborate. Together, we can exert an influence on the car industry that would be hard to achieve otherwise. We are glad to see some of the major manufacturers making safety equipment standard across EU28, although we know that markets outside the Eurozone are sometimes less well served.’
