Η Ford ανακοίνωσε ότι προτού πάει το B-Max στη Γενεύη, θα το παρουσιάσει στο Mobile World Congress 2012 στις 27 Φεβρουαρίου και παράλληλα έδωσε και το πρώτο video του. Το αυτοκίνητο βασίζεται στο πρωτότυπo που παρουσιάστηκε πέρυσι στην ίδια έκθεση και στιλιστικά δεν διαφέρει σημαντικά από το πρωτότυπο. Το B-Max βασίζεται στο Fiesta και δεν διαθέτει μεσαία κολόνα ώστε να γίνεται έτσι πιο άνετη η πρόσβαση στο εσωτερικό.
Το μικρό MPV διαθέτει πίσω συρόμενες πόρτες με το άνοιγμα όταν και οι δύο πόρτες είναι ανοικτές να φτάνει το 1.5 μέτρο! Τα πίσω καθίσματα αλλά και το κάθισμα του συνοδηγού αναδιπλώνονται πλήρως ώστε να γίνεται ευκολότερη η μεταφορά κάθε είδος φορτίου που έχει μήκος 2.35 μέτρα. Το αυτοκίνητο είναι κατά 30cm μικρότερο από το C-Max και κατά 11cm μεγαλύτερο από το Fiesta.
Το αυτοκίνητο μηχανικά θα φορά κινητήρες βενζίνης όπου ανάμεσα τους θα βρίσκεται και ο νέος 1.000αρης τρικύλιδρος turbo EcoBoost τεχνολογίας άμεσου ψεκασμού με δύο ανεξάρτητους εκκεντροφόρους μεταβλητού χρονισμού καθώς και σύστημα start/stop. Αποδίδει 120 άλογα με μέση κατανάλωση 4.9 λίτρα/100 χλμ και 114 γρ/χλμ εκπομπές CO2. Επίσης θα υπάρχουν και Duratorq TDCi πετρελαιοκινητήρες στην γκάμα. Ο 1.60αρης TDI αποδίδει 95 άλογα, χρειάζεται 4.0 λίτρα/100 χλμ και εκπέμπει 104 γρ/χλμ CO2. Το νέο B-Max θα διαθέτει και σύστημα ανάκτησης ενέργειας Smart Regenerative Charging το οποίο βοηθά στην επαναφόρτιση της μπαταρίας ώστε να εξοικονομεί καύσιμο. Οι πωλήσεις του θα ξεκινήσουν μέσα στο 2012.

BRENTWOOD, Essex, 14 February, 2012 – Ford Motor Company executive chairman Bill Ford will unveil the all-new B-MAX on Feb. 27 at the 2012 Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona.
Ford is the first manufacturer ever to unveil a car at the leading mobile industry event and will announce significant new technologies for Europe to be debuted on the B-MAX; these will make it one of the continent’s most technologically advanced small cars.
Bill Ford also will become the first automotive leader to deliver a keynote speech at MWC when he discusses the company’s vision for mobility in the future and explores the potential for mobile technology and vehicles to play more integrated roles.

B-MAX will bring a unique Easy Access Door System with central body pillars integrated into the sliding rear doors to provide unrivalled access for passengers and luggage alike.
It will be powered by an engine range including a new 1.0-litre 120PS EcoBoost petrol engine and a 1.6-litre TDCi diesel engine, both of which will offer class-leading fuel economy and CO2 emissions.
