Ο γερμανικός οίκος ABT Sportsline δεν έχασε καιρό και έτσι ετοίμασε ήδη βελτιωτικό πακέτο για την τρίτη γενιά του Audi A3 το οποίο παρουσιάστηκε στην έκθεση της Γενεύης την περασμένη εβδομάδα. Το αυτοκίνητο ονομάζεται AS3 και θα είναι διαθέσιμο προς παραγγελία μέσα στο 2012. Στιλιστικά η ABT τοποθέτησε νέο μπροστά spoiler, νέα γρίλια, πλαϊνά spoiler, αεροτομή, νέος πίσω προφυλακτήρας και μια σειρά νέων ζαντών 18″ και 19″.
Μηχανικά ο 2.0-λιτρος TDI κινητήρας αποδίδει 200 άλογα (από 170) ενώ ο 2.0-λιτρος TFSI 250 άλογα (από 200). Τοποθετήθηκε χαμηλότερη σπορ ανάρτηση, τετραπλές απολήξεις των εξατμίσεων και μεγαλύτερα φρένα με δίσκους 345 mm.

Individuality and dynamics for everyday life – the new ABT AS3
The A3 is a winner – it defines the compact car class with its self-confident premium claim again and again. The car is compact, but “the emphasis is on class”, explained Hans-Jürgen Abt. For the CEO of the renowned tuner the car is an absolute all-rounder, but in the “intensified” ABT version it offers additional maximum individuality and dynamics. Hans-Jürgen Abt: „The happiness in driving, always and everywhere – this is what our new AS3 stands for.“
At the moment engineers are occupied with testing the increase of performance of the AS3, but one thing is for sure yet: The new version is a real sports car, a car which can compete with larger vehicles if necessary, but also a car which navigates smoothly and reliably through daily traffic. The two-litre turbo-diesel engine is particularly economical – and therefore ideal for frequent drivers; Presumably updated by ABT it will offer around 200 HP/147 kW (standard: 170 HP/125 kW). Those who like more sporty cars will choose the 2.0 TFSI. Thanks to ABT POWER the engines performance grows to a powerful 250 HP/184 kW (standard: 200 HP/147 kW). ABT Sportsline also offers suspension springs for the AS3 for sportier driving qualities. Besides, a coil-over suspension is in planning, which additionally supports the sporting spirit of the compact car. The ABT brake kit assures suitable safety reserve: The discs have a diameter of 345 mm and grip well whenever needed.
Of course the ABT AS3 also appears to be fast in its optic: Front spoiler, front grille and side skirts make it appear even more distinctive. With the rear spoiler, the rear skirt insert and the two double end mufflers it shows its strong athletic side. The DR light alloy wheels, which are available in 18 and 19 inches, are an ideal addition for equal style and better handling. This special rim harmonises optimally with the classy silhouette of the ABT AS3: The 3D-impression of the five double spokes symbolises power and ease, movement and stability – and underlines the special class of compactness from Bavaria.
