K-Tec Racing Ltd, Europe’s premier specialist Renault tuner, is delighted to announce the launch of an exciting warrantied engine performance upgrade package for the popular RenaultSport Clio 197 and 200 models.
Although well received by the media and owners alike, many of the more enthusiastic 197/200 owners seek additional low and mid-range engine performance from the Clio’s F4R 830 engine for fast road and trackday use, where torque and tractability are all important.
Hence why K-Tec Racing Ltd has created the ‘KTR215’ package with the goal of increasing driveability, response and outright engine performance on the Clio 197/200. Extensively tested on K-Tec Racing’s in-house Superflow chassis dynomometer and in a wide variety of road / track conditions, the KTR215 package consists of the following components:-
- 1 x set of Cat Cam 402 high performance billet steel camshafts
- 1 x genuine Renault cam timing belt
- 1 x set genuine Renault camshaft caps
- Installation by K-Tec Racing’s technicians
- Bespoke K-Tec Racing OBDII ECU remap
Once installed, the KTR215 upgrade makes a significant difference to the RenaultSport Clio 197/200s’ performance. Thanks to careful development of the revised cam profiles and ECU remapping by K-Tec Racing, the package adds both power and torque throughout the rev range.
Mindful of the need for additional low rev urge, the KTR215 upgrade adds an extra 12lb.ft of torque at 3600rpm, with an additional 10lb.ft on tap between 5200-7500rpm. Combined with a revised drive by wire throttle map, throttle response and mid-range pull are greatly improved, making the Clio 197/200, faster and easer to drive.
And more exciting! Power gains from the KTR215 package start from just 2900rpm, with an extra 10bhp available at 5200rpm, peaking at an impressive 15bhp increase at 7000rpm. On K-Tec Racing’s dyno this equates to a maximum power output of 215bhp, with over 200bhp on offer between 6150rpm and the raised 7500rpm rev limit, highlighting the spread of power produced by the KTR215 upgrade.
