H Hyundai ανακοίνωσε ότι και η wagon έκδοση του i30 απέσπασε 5 αστεράκια ασφαλείας στις δοκιμές πρόσκρουσης του Euro NCAP. To αυτοκίνητο πήρε τα ίδια ποσοστά που πέτυχε και η hatchback πεντάπορτη έκδοση.
Το i30 παρουσιάστηκε στην έκθεση της Γενεύης τον Μάρτιο και κατασκευάζεται στο εργοστάσιο της Hyundai στη πόλη Nošovice της Τσεχίας και είναι μεγαλύτερο κατά 185 mm σε σχέση με την πεντάπορτη hatchback έκδοση, αγγίζοντας τα 4.485 mm, 100 mm περισσότερα από την προηγούμενη γενιά. Ο χώρος αποσκευών ανέρχεται στα 528 λίτρα ο οποίος με την αναδίπλωση των πίσω καθισμάτων, μπορεί να φτάσει έως τα 1642 λίτρα. Η Hyundai αναφέρει ότι ήδη έχει δεχτεί 57.000 παραγγελίες για το νέο i30 μόνο από την αγορά της Ευρώπης.
Από στιλιστικής άποψης, διαθέτει τη νέα σχεδιαστική φιλοσοφία της Hyundai “fluidic sculpture” με εξάγωνη γρίλια και έχει σχεδιαστεί από το ευρωπαϊκό σχεδιαστικό τμήμα των Κορεατών στο Rüsselsheim της Γερμανίας.
Κάτω από το καπό του θα βρίσκονται οι ίδιοι κινητήρες που φορά και το πεντάπορτο i30. Έτσι συναντάμε 2 τετρακύλινδρους κινητήρες βενζίνης, έναν 1.400αρη 100 ίππων και έναν 1.600αρη GDI με 140 άλογα και με 3 πετρελαίου, έναν 1.400 cc CRDi με 90 άλογα, ένα 1.600αρη CRDi Blue Drive 110 ίππων και έναν 1.600αρη CRDi με 128 άλογα. Όλοι οι κινητήρες θα συνδυάζονται με 2 κιβώτια, ένα 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό και ένα 6-τάχυτο αυτόματο.

New Generation i30 Tourer attains highest European safety rating
Score of 90% in both ‘child occupant’ and ‘adult occupant’ tests
High Wycombe, 18 October 2012 – The Hyundai New Generation i30 Tourer has been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating by independent vehicle assessment organisation, Euro NCAP. These latest results give the Tourer the same safety rating as the five-door model – itself one of the safest cars in class.
In tests carried out by Hyundai, overseen and approved by Euro NCAP, the New Generation i30 Tourer received a class-leading 90% in the ‘child occupant’ category – in both ’18-month-old’ and ‘3-year-old’ – tests. In the ‘adult occupant’ category, it scored 90% and was praised for the good protection afforded by the front head restraints against whiplash in the event of a rear-end impact.
New Generation i30 Tourer scored well in the ‘pedestrian’ test, maintaining maximum points for the protection to pedestrian’s legs provided by the bumper. Electronic stability program, as well as a front and rear seatbelt reminder system, contributed to the car’s score of 86% in the ‘safety assist’ category.
