Η Marussia βρισκόταν ανάμεσα στη Ferrari και τη Mercedes για τους turbo V6 κινητήρες που θα έχει στην πλάτη των μονοθεσίων της από το 2014, όταν και η Formula 1 θα δεχθεί πολύ μεγάλες αλλαγές που δεν αποκλείεται ν’ αλλάξουν τις σημερινές ισορροπίες.
Η ρωσική ομάδα ήταν πολύ κοντά σε συμφωνία με τους Ιταλούς, και σήμερα, ανακοίνωσε επίσημα ότι θα προμηθεύεται turbo V6 κινητήρα από τη Scuderia, μαζί με το Energy Recovery Sestem (ERS), τη μετάδοση και όλα τα σχετικά συστήματα.
Από το 2010, όταν και μπήκε η Marussia στη Formula 1, μέχρι και σήμερα, χρησιμοποιούσε κινητήρες τής Cosworth, που, κατά γενική ομολογία, ήταν οι χειρότεροι από τους Mercedes-Benz, Renault και Ferrari, έτσι ελπίζει να είναι ένα βήμα που θα τη βοηθήσει στην αύξηση της απόδοσης και της ανταγωνιστικότητάς της.

The Marussia F1 Team and Scuderia Ferrari are pleased to announce the agreement of a new technical partnership which will see the Anglo-Russian team benefiting from a full Ferrari powertrain with effect from the 2014 season.
As a Scuderia Ferrari customer team and within the terms of the 2014 regulations, the Marussia F1 Team will receive the supply of an Internal Combustion Engine and Energy Recovery System, full transmission and all related ancillary systems.
