H Citroën σχεδόν μια εβδομάδα μετά την παρουσίαση του Aircross concept δημοσίευσε ένα video που μας δείχνει πως κατασκεύασε το νέο της crossover.
Ήταν αρχές του 2014, όταν οι σχεδιαστές της εταιρίας ολοκλήρωσαν τον σχεδιασμό του αυτοκινήτου, και αμέσως μετά οι μηχανικοί της εταιρίας ανέλαβαν να κάνουν πράξη τα σχέδια των πρώτων. Ένα μοντέλο από πηλό ήταν έτοιμο τον Ιούνιο του ίδιου έτους, ενώ οι εργασίες για το σασί ξεκίνησαν από τον περασμένο Σεπτέμβρη, για να ακολουθήσει η συναρμολόγηση του πρωτοτύπου μόλις τον Δεκέμβριο.
Το Aircross concept θα κάνει το ντεμπούτο του στην έκθεση της Σαγκάη την επόμενη εβδομάδα, με τη γαλλική εταιρία να μην ανακοινώνει τίποτα για πιθανή έκδοση παραγωγής του concept, παρά μόνο ότι δείχνει τις διεθνείς προσδοκίες της.
Ακολουθώντας τη σχεδιαστική συνταγή του C4 Cactus, το Aircross concept έχει ακολουθήσει την αυξητική σε όλες διαστάσεις, και έτσι το μήκος του είναι 4.580 χλστ., 2.100 χλστ. πλάτος, ύψος 1.800 χλστ. ενώ πατάει σε ζάντες 22 ιντσών. Ο όγκος του θεωρητικά το κατατάσσει απέναντι στο νέο Land Rover Discovery Sport, ή καλύτερα στη κατηγορία του Hyundai Santa Fe, κάτι που σημαίνει ότι η γαλλική εταιρία ετοιμάζει ένα μεγαλύτερο SUV από το Cactus.
Στο εσωτερικό υπάρχουν δυο μεγάλες 12-ιντσες οθόνες, με τη μια να είναι αποσπώμενη. Σε κάθε κάθισμα του πρωτοτύπου υπάρχουν ηχεία και μικρόφωνο για να ενισχύσουν το διάλογο μεταξύ των επιβατών.
Μηχανικά διαθέτει ένα plug-in hybrid σύνολο, με τον 1.600άρη βενζινοκινητήρα να αποδίδει 218 άλογα και 275 Nm ροπή, ενώ στον πίσω άξονα υπάρχει ένας ηλεκτροκινητήρας απόδοσης 95 ίππων και 200 Νm ροπής. Η συνδυαστική ιπποδύναμη φτάνει τα 313 άλογα, με το αυτοκίνητο να χρειάζεται μόλις 4,5 δευτ. για τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα, ενώ η μικτή κατανάλωση που ανακοινώνει το εργοστάσιο είναι μόλις 1,7 λίτρα/100 χλμ., με τις εκπομπές CO2 να ανέρχονται στα 39 γρ/χλμ. Η ενέργεια αποθηκεύεται σε μπαταρίες ιόντων-λιθίου, χαρίζοντας του αυτονομία 50 χλμ. Η πλήρη φόρτιση τους γίνεται μέσω οικιακής πρίζας σπιτιού και διαρκεί περίπου 3,5 ώρες. CITROËN’S NEW CONCEPT CAR: THE MAKING OF AIRCROSS
A week after unveiling the new Citroën Aircross concept car, which will have its world premiere at the Shanghai Motor Show on 20 April, Citroën is offering a behind-the-scenes look at how it was created with a new video and previously unseen photos.
Building a concept car is a great way for Citroën to showcase the brand’s design and technological capabilities. It introduces styling elements and trends that will put a distinctive mark on future Citroën models. Besides its strategic importance, creating a concept car is a fantastic adventure for the people involved, who come from a range of departments at Citroën, including design, R&D and product.
The first exterior and interior design sketches of the Citroën Aircross were finished more than a year ago, early in 2014. The first full-scale clay model was presented in June 2014, offering an opportunity to see what the dimensions and proportions really looked like. The designers began working on the chassis in September and assembly of the concept car got under way in December 2014. The finishing touches were meda in late March 2015.
Frédéric Duvernier, the Citroën Aircross Styling Manager, pointed out; “Everything in this project forms a coherent whole because all the teams have worked together since the first sketches were done. It is apparent in the spirit, the colours, even in details like the hooks in the rear for attaching luggage that have the same shape as the tow hooks. Another example: onboard technologies like the graphical interface. This was integrated in the development stage so it would contribute harmoniously to the interior ambience.”
For the first time, Citroën is revealing what happens behind the scenes during the creation of a concept car, with exclusive photos and a video showing the manufacturing process. All of Citroën’s know-how is on display, combining passion and precision. Time-lapse photography is used to show full days of work in the ‘off-limits’ workshop where the Citroën Aircross was assembled.
