Τα μοντέλα κινούνται από έναν υπερτροφοδοτούμενο εξακύλινδρο εν σειρά με χωρητικότητα 3 λίτρων που αποδίδει 350 άλογα και 500 Nm ροπής. Αυτός, συνδυάζεται με ένα 6-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο και σύστημα τετρακίνησης με αποτέλεσμα τα 100 km/h από στάση να έρχονται σε 4.9 δευτερόλεπτα ενώ η τελική ταχύτητα, να είναι περιορισμένη στα 250 km/h.

Scott McLaughlin Edition Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar to New Zealand

Polestar expands to a new market as New Zealand gets a Scott McLaughlin Edition of the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar.

“It’s great that Volvo New Zealand and Polestar have given me this unique opportunity to create a Limited Edition model after having some input into the development of the car in Sweden,” said Scott McLaughlin, New Zealand-born Volvo V8 Supercar driver.

McLaughlin races for Volvo Polestar Racing in the V8 Supercars where he shocked the field last season by claiming four victories, ten podium finishes and ten pole positions.

”Scott is a vastly talented racing driver with a bright future ahead of him. His input in the development of the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar has been vital and we are glad to be able to offer performance oriented customers in New Zealand our models,” said Hans Bååth, Managing Director of Polestar Performance.

New Zealand is going to get an ultra limited run of just ten cars with unique details such as black wheels, embroidered headrests with McLaughlin’s signature, colour-coded side skirts and more.

Also included with the car is an exclusive track experience with McLaughlin where the owners will get the opportunity to properly drive their Volvo S60 or V60 Polestar under his tuition.

”I’m loving my time being a factory Volvo driver and I look forward to coming back to New Zealand in the near future for the track day with the owners of the cars,” said McLaughlin.

Upgrades include modifications made to increase rigidity of the chassis to cater for the 80% stiffer springs relative to the standard S60 R-Design. These changes combined with the tailored high performance Öhlins shock absorbers and 20” Polestar wheels results in a precise, yet comfortable, driving experience.


The brake system has undergone substantial modifications. Most visible are the 371 millimetre ventilated front discs and six-piston Brembo calipers, guaranteeing a high level of braking performance.


To reflect the increased performance of the S/V60 Polestar, positive aerodynamic effects have been achieved through subtle, yet efficient, modifications based on data from tests in the Volvo Cars wind tunnel. The changes are visible with the front splitters, optimising the airflow underneath the car, as well as a new rear spoiler and diffusor, increasing downforce.


The six-cylinder turbo-charged T6 engine has undergone extensive development with a new twin-scroll turbo and intercooler to produce 350 HP/257 kW at 5700 rpm and 500 Nm/369 lb-ft already at 2800 rpm. The engine breathes through a 2.5” stainless steel exhaust system, making for a throaty engine note.


The six-speed automatic gearbox features a new paddle shift system that together with the Polestar developed Haldex four-wheel drive system takes the car from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds and to a limited top speed of 250 km/h. The gearbox as well as the four-wheel drive system and traction control system has been recalibrated in order to provide an active driving experience and maximum grip in all situations.


The interior has been reworked with new details, materials and Polestar colours, such as the steering wheel, seats and more, with the sole purpose of increasing driver support and control.
