H Bugatti πριν 3 χρόνια ανακοίνωσε την Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Car Edition, το ταχύτερο ανοικτό αυτοκίνητο παραγωγής του κόσμου, με τον Κινέζο οδηγό αγώνων Anthony Liu έπιασε τα 408,84 χλμ/ώρα στη πίστα δοκιμών Ehra-Lessien της Volkswagen.
Η γαλλική εταιρία κατασκεύασε συνολικά 450 Veyron, με τις 150 να ήταν το roadster μοντέλο, και από αυτές μόλις 8 τέτοια αυτοκίνητα βγήκαν στην ειδική έκδοση World Record Edition.
Μια από τις αυτές βρίσκεται προς πώληση από τον H.R Owen στο Λονδίνο, αντί για 2,36 εκατ. ευρώ, όταν καινούρια κόστιζε 1,99 εκατ. ευρώ, χωρίς τους φόρους της κάθε χώρας. Αγοράστηκε τον Οκτώβριο του 2013 και έχει διανύσει μόλις 1.818 χλμ.
Να θυμίσω ότι η Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Convertible είναι μια ειδική έκδοση της Grand Sport Vitesse, ώστε να γιορταστεί το ρεκόρ ταχύτητας και φορά και αυτή τον 8.0-λιτρων W16 τετράτουρμπο κινητήρα ο οποίος αποδίδει 1.200 άλογα με 1.500 Nm ροπής.
Τα επιπλέον 199 άλογα προέρχονται από τα μεγαλύτερα turbo και τα μεγαλύτερα intercooler μαζί με τον επαναπρογραμματισμό της ECU ενώ το σασί έχει δεχτεί και αυτό αναβαθμίσεις ώστε να αντέχει την μεγαλύτερη δύναμη.
Ο κινητήρας συνδυάζεται με ένα 7-τάχυτα DSG κιβώτιο το οποίο στέλνει την κίνηση σε όλους τους τροχούς με τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα να τα κάνει σε 2.6 δευτ, τα 0-200 χλμ/ώρα σε 7.1 δευτ. με τελική ταχύτητα 410 χλμ/ώρα.

This car is the ultimate incarnation of the Veyron. Of the 450 Veyrons made, there were only 150 roadsters produced and of those, only eight were world record editions, making this a truly rare car.
This particular version is a UK car, and was originally registered in October 2013. It has only had the one owner since then, and has covered just 1130 miles in its lifetime.
With the Veyron only ever being made in limited numbers – only 450 were made over nine years of production – values of this car are set to be strong in the future. This Grand Sport Vitesse is offered for sale at £1,795,000.
The Veyron remains the most exclusive Bugatti ever made, until the release of the Chiron later this year. When the Chiron goes on sale, it will only be available in the UK at H.R. Owen’s London showroom.
