Η Toyota ανακοίνωσε ότι βάζει και δεύτερη βάρδια στο εργοστάσιο της ΤMMR (Toyota Motor Manufacturing Russia) στην Αγία Πετρούπολη από τον Σεπτέμβριο προσλαμβάνοντας 600 νέους υπαλλήλους, ανεβάζοντας την δυναμική του εργοστασίου στα 1.750 άτομα.
Ο λόγος που προχώρησε στη κίνηση αυτή είναι οι πωλήσεις του νέου Camry το οποίο κατασκευάζεται στη Ρωσία από τον Νοέμβριο του 2011, και κατά τους τρεις πρώτους μήνες, έχει παρουσιάσει αύξηση στις πωλήσεις κατά 66%, με την Toyota να έχει πουλήσει στην Ρωσία την ίδια περίοδο 32.859 αυτοκίνητα (+22% σε σχέση με την ίδια περίοδο του 2011).

Toyota Russia to Add Second Shift at St. Petersburg Plant
Number of Plant Employees to Expand to Approximately 1,750
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that Toyota Motor Manufacturing Russia (TMMR), its vehicle production subsidiary in Russia, will start two-shift operations in September of this year. Approximately 600 new personnel have been hired in preparation, and TMMR forecasts that the number of plant employees will have reached approximately 1,750 when two-shift operations begin.
Concerning the announcement, TMMR President Yoshinori Matsunaga said: “Starting two-shift operations is a significant event for our plant. Our employees’ commitment to Toyota principles in quality has resulted in us gaining Russian consumer trust and high evaluations for our Camry. It makes us at TMMR glad to be able to contribute to the economy of St. Petersburg and to its employment.”
Production of the new Toyota Camry began at TMMR in November 2011. Sales of the new model in Russia surged 66% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, while sales of Toyota vehicles in the Russian market increased by 22% to 32,859 units during the same period.
Moreover, to promote further localisation in Russia, a market promising continued sustained growth, TMMR announced in February this year that it plans to add stamping and resin-moulding processes to its production during 2014.
