H BMW ανακοίνωσε σήμερα την τρίπορτη έκδοση της νέας Σειράς 1, έναν χρόνο περίπου μετά τη παρουσίαση της πεντάπορτης έκδοσης. Η τρίπορτη έκδοση της Σειράς 1 έχει πόρτες χωρίς πλαίσιο και διατηρεί τις ίδιες διαστάσεις με τη 5-πορτη έκδοση με μήκος 4.324 mm, πλάτος 1.765 mm, ύψος 1.421 mm και 2.690 mm μεταξόνιο.
Η BMW τονίζει ότι σε σχέση με την προηγούμενη τρίπορτη Σειρά 1, η νέα προσφέρει 21 mm περισσότερο χώρο για τους πίσω επιβάτες και 30 λίτρα μεγαλύτερο χώρο αποσκευών, ο οποίος αγγίζει τα 360 λίτρα.
Μηχανικά είναι διαθέσιμη με 2 νέους κινητήρες βενζίνης στις εκδόσεις 114i και M135i, οι οποίοι είναι διαθέσιμοι και στην 5-πορτη έκδοση. Entry-level κινητήρας είναι ο 1.600αρης turbo απόδοσης 102 ίππων στην έκδοση 114i. Ακολουθεί η έκδοση 116i με τον ίδιο κινητήρα απόδοσης 136 ίππων, η 125i με τον 2.0-λιτρο turbo απόδοσης 218 ίππων και η M135i με τον 3.0-λιτρο turbo εξακύλινδρο κινητήρα απόδοσης 320 ίππων με 450 Nm ροπής. Τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα τα κάνει σε 4.9 δευτ. με το 8-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο (5.1 δευτ. με το 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό), με την τελική ταχύτητα να περιορίζεται ηλεκτρονικά στα 250 χλμ/ώρα.
H Μ135i διαθέτει σπορ ανάρτηση, νέο σύστημα διεύθυνσης, μεγαλύτερα φρένα, M στιλιστικό πακέτο αποτελούμενο από νέο μπροστά προφυλακτήρα, νέο πίσω με διαχύτη, ζάντες 18″, ασημένια καπάκια πλαϊνών καθρεπτών και νέα διακοσμητικά στο εσωτερικό.
Από πλευράς πετρελαιοκινητήρων υπάρχει ο 2.0-λιτρος turbodiesel απόδοσης 116 ίππων στην έκδοση 116d, 143 άλογα στην έκδοση 118d και 218 άλογα στην έκδοση 125d. Στην έκδοση 116d EfficientDynamics Edition ο 1.600αρης turbodiesel αποδίδει 116 άλογα με 260 Nm ροπής. Συνδυάζεται με ένα 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό κιβώτιο με σύστημα Start/Stop, ηλεκτρικό τιμόνι, ενεργό προφυλακτήρα, επαναρυθμισμένο πίσω διαφορικό και ανάρτηση και ελαστικά χαμηλής τριβής. Τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα τα τα κάνει σε 10.5 δευτ. με τελική ταχύτητα 195 χλμ/ώρα. Έχει μέση κατανάλωση 3.8 λίτρα/100 χλμ και 99 γρ/χλμ εκπομπές CO2.
Όλοι οι άλλοι κινητήρες συνδυάζονται και με το 8-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο, ενώ το σύστημα Start/Stop είναι διαθέσιμο ανεξαρτήτως κιβωτίου. Τον Νοέμβριο θα προστεθούν οι εκδόσεις 120d με 181 άλογα και 118i απόδοσης 170 ίππων.
