BOOST THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR ASTRA, CORSA AND MERIVA 1.4T 120PS WITH A SUPERCHIPS ECU REMAP

  • Superchips’ ECU remap gains 22bhp and 36Nm of torque for Vauxhall models using 1.4T 120PS turbocharged engine
  • Available on Superchips’ popular Bluefin ‘Plug-In and Go’ handset
  • Backed up by Superchips’ industry-leading warranty

Vauxhall cars have always been a favourite with UK drivers seeking extra performance and the new generation GM 1.4-litre petrol turbo powerplant offers plenty of tuning potential at an affordable price.

Superchips – the world’s leading high performance ECU remapping specialist – can now unlock that tuning potential for owners of Vauxhall Astra J (GTC), Corsa ‘Black’ and Meriva models which run the 1364cc 120PS 1.4T motor. Thanks to an extensive combination of chassis dyno and road testing, Superchips’ technicians have developed a performance Bluefin ECU remap for this engine’s Delco engine management system that enhances the power output of these models whilst retaining factory failsafe protocols and reliability levels.

The Superchips Bluefin ECU remap for 1.4T 120PS variants of the Vauxhall Astra J, Corsa and Meriva produces an extra 22bhp at 5428rpm, with progressive increases throughout the rev range from just 1700rpm all the way to the powerplant’s 6250rpm limiter. Torque outputs are similarly enhanced, with the Superchips remap producing noticeable gains from 2500 to 5000rpm. This culminates in an impressive torque increase of 36Nm at just 2557rpm, highlighting the user-friendly nature of the conversion.

On the road the Superchips Bluefin ECU remap makes these Vauxhall models feel considerably livelier and more willing, delivering a more exciting, rewarding every day drive. Fast cruising, overtaking and load carrying performance are greatly enhanced, making an improvement on (for example) the Corsa Black’s standard 9.7 seconds 0-60mph sprint highly likely.

Yet this extra verve doesn’t come at the expense of fuel economy. The combination of the additional low-speed torque and the extra efficiencies delivered by the Superchips Bluefin ECU remap means that if these Astra, Corsa and Meriva 1.4T 120PS models are driven in a ‘like for like’ manner then standard fuel economy levels will be retained.

The Superchips ECU remap for the Astra, Corsa and Meriva 1.4T 120PS models is available on Superchips’ market leading Bluefin ‘Plug-in and Go’ programming handset. No mechanical or technical skills are required, because Bluefin allows for quick and easy DIY uploading of the Superchips ECU remap onto these Vauxhall models’ in a matter of minutes. As part of this process, the Superchips Bluefin handset also stores the cars original ECU map, enabling the owner to reload the standard map at any time. Alternatively, customers can visit one of approximately 80 Superchips performance centres, where trained technicians can undertake the Bluefin ECU remap installation procedure.

The latest version of the Ford Focus ST has won plenty of fans worldwide with its sharp dynamics and 246bhp, 2.0-litre, direct injection turbocharged Ecoboost engine. But as with any hot hatchback, there are always owners who want more performance than the factory can offer.

Which is where leading performance ECU remap specialist Superchips Ltd excels, having enjoyed a long history of enhancing the power of turbocharged Fords since the original Series 1 Escort RS Turbo, back in 1986. And its latest product – a Superchips ECU remap for the newest, 154mph Mk3 Focus ST 2.0T – is set to right a new chapter of success with upgrading Ford products for the enthusiast market.

Thanks to an extensive combination of chassis dyno and road testing, Superchips’ technicians have developed a performance remap for the 2.0-litre turbocharged Focus ST’s ECU, which optimises boost levels, fuelling and ignition timing on the 246bhp direct injection Ecoboost engine. The end result is a Superchips conversion that increases power output, improves response and enhances refinement whilst retaining factory failsafe protocols and reliability levels.

In-house dyno testing has proven that the Superchips ECU remap for the Focus ST produces an impressive additional 51bhp at 4046rpm, with a peak power gain of 31bhp at 5655rpm, emphasising the progressive nature of the additional performance.

But peak power is only part of the story, because the Superchips ECU remap realises noticeable increases in torque output from 2000 to 5000rpm, culminating in an remarkable gain of 93Nm at just 3954rpm (with a peak torque increase of 69Nm at 3770rpm) highlighting the user-friendly nature of the conversion.

Modifications to the ST’s drive by wire throttle settings enable Superchips to enhance pedal response, which in combination with the added torque on tap, makes the Focus feel considerably livelier to drive.

And it’s behind the wheel that owners will notice the real benefits of the Superchips upgrade. The Focus ST instantly becomes keener, more willing and more rewarding to drive, delivering electrifying performance, with ample power for overtaking, fast road, trackday or everyday enjoyment. Despite the elevated power levels if the Superchips enhanced Ford is driven in a ‘like for like’ manner then standard fuel economy levels will be retained.

And this extra performance is available to Focus ST drivers on Superchips’ market leading Bluefin programming handset. No mechanical or technical skills are required, because Bluefin allows for quick and easy DIY uploading of the Superchips ECU remap onto the Focus in a matter of minutes. As part of this process, the Superchips Bluefin handset also stores the cars original ECU map, enabling the owner to reload the standard map at any time. Alternatively, customers can visit one of approximately 80 Superchips performance centres, where trained technicians can undertake the ECU remap installation procedure.
