Η ABT Sportsline παρουσίασε το ολοκαίνουριο AS6-R.
Φυσικά είναι βασισμένο πάνω στο Audi S6 Avant που σημαίνει πως ξεκινάει από ήδη μία πολύ καλή βάση, με δεδομένο πως δυναμικά είναι πολύ ικανό και ο twin-turbo V8 που έχει κάτω από το καπό, με 420 άλογα και τα 550Nm ροπής, φροντίζει ώστε οι επιδόσεις να είναι κάτι παραπάνω από αξιοπρεπείς. Η ABT όμως δεν ικανοποιείται από «κάτι παραπάνω από αξιοπρεπείς». Θέλει επιδόσεις που να κόβουν την ανάσα. Έτσι, με κάποιες αλλαγές στο hardware και το software της κινητήριας μονάδας, κατάφερε να της αποσπάσει 600 άλογα και 750Nm ροπής. Πως μεταφράζονται αυτά τα νούμερα στον δρόμο; 0-100km/h σε 3,9 δευτερόλεπτα, τα 200km/h έρχονται σε 12,9 και η τελική είναι ηλεκτρονικά περιορισμένη στα 310km/h!
Το εξωτερικό, είναι επίσης βελτιωμένο στα σημεία ώστε υποδηλώνει πως κάτι τρέχει με το συγκεκριμένο S6 Avant αλλά να μην φωνάζει πως πρόκειται για ένα φονιά που θα δολοφονήσει την συντριπτική πλειοψηφία των αυτοκινήτων που θα καθίσουν δίπλα του. Υπάρχουν εκτεθειμένα κομμάτια carbon σε διάφορα σημεία του αυτοκινήτου, όπως η εισαγωγή του κινητήρα, οι καθρέφτες, οι αεραγωγοί στον εμπρός προφυλακτήρα, τα skirts στο πλάι και η αεροτομή στο πίσω μέρος ενώ και οι προφυλακτήρες τόσο εμπρός όσο και πίσω έχουν μικρο-αλλαγές. Οι πελάτες επίσης έχουν την δυνατότητα να παραγγείλουν την sport εξάτμιση από ανοξείδωτο ατσάλι καθώς και ζάντες ελαφρού κράματος 21 ιντσών.

For Hans-Jürgen Abt, this is an ideal combination that covers all life situations. “This car provides both the space and the power to get anything from A to B. And why not via the Nürburgring’s famous ‘Nordschleife’?” says the CEO of the globally largest tuner of cars produced by the Volkswagen Group. You only have to look at the figures: the very potent estate’s serial power is 420 hp (309 kW), here increased to no less than 600 hp (441 kW). The impressive extra power of almost 43 % is made possible by the innovative ABT POWER S technology. The optimised engine control unit aside, the ABT Turbo Chargers render the ABT AS6-R a really roadworthy dependable and superior racing car. With a torque of 750 Nm (serial version: 550 Nm), the eight-cylinder engine will show its power especially when the car has to carry something. The acceleration makes sport drivers hearts’ beat faster: the lifestyle estate reaches 100 kph in no more than 3.9 sec, 200 kph in 12.9 sec, and its top speed is an electronically controlled 310 kph. So you better fix your load. The ABT development features 40 hp more than the new original Audi RS6.
The ABT AS6-R is a technical masterpiece, developed by ABT engineers. It goes without saying that the extra power has been subjected to endurance tests both on the road and on the test bench. After all, this fast estate car is supposed to last a lifetime. For Hans-Jürgen Abt, the AS6-R “is a perfect combination of Audi S6 and ABT AS6. Driving this car makes you feel motorsports momentum.” Even when it’s standing still, you will see that this car is a winner: exposed carbon on the front, the mirrors and side skirts and in form of the rear spoiler. Add to this the stainless-steel exhaust system and you know what an expressive look this “express truck” has. One look at the rear end, outlined by the four pipes, will make you see the car’s sporty character. It’s perfectly “rounded off” by the sporty and filigree ABT DR gun-metal sport-type wheels. On the ABT AS6-R, they are mounted in fitting 9 x 21 inches with 265/30 ZR21 tires. With its five dynamically bent double spokes, the extremely light wheel suggests motion; the unsprung masses have been optimised for high speeds. So the ABT AS6-R is both a very convenient and sporty car that will show its power at all times.
