Μετά την ανακοίνωση πως η DRB-Hicom «δεσμεύτηκε» στην Lotus ανακοινώνοντας τόσο περαιτέρω οικονομική ενίσχυση όσο και ένα τριετές πλάνο σύμφωνα με το οποίο θα παρουσιαστούν διαφορετικές εκδόσεις ήδη υπαρχόντων μοντέλων, τα καλά νέα για την Lotus συνεχίζονται.

Για να καλύψει την διαρκώς ανοδική πορεία των πωλήσεων που αναμένεται να ενταθεί με την πρόοδο του σχεδίου, τα αφεντικά της μάρκας από το Norfolk, έδωσαν το πράσινο φως για την δημιουργία 100 επιπλέον θέσεων εργασίας στο εργοστάσιο στο Hethel. Από αυτές τις 100 θέσεις, οι 45 θα είναι μηχανικών, οι 40 θα αφορούν την παραγωγή και οι τελευταίες 15 θα απευθύνονται αποκλειστικά σε τελειόφοιτους πανεπιστημίων.

Είναι πάντα ευχάριστο να βλέπεις αγαπημένους κατασκευαστές που μέχρι πρότινος πάλευαν να κρατηθούν στην επιφάνεια, να ανακάμπτουν και να μεγαλώνουν ξανά. Ok, μπορεί να μην πιάσει τα περασμένα μεγαλεία της σύντομα η Lotus αλλά φαίνεται πως είναι σε καλό δρόμο και δεν θα γράψουμε τον επίλογο σύντομα…

Iconic British car manufacturer Lotus has announced that it is to create more than 100 new jobs, including a new intake to its revamped graduate programme.

The firm will recruit 45 specialist engineers and 40 manufacturing operatives, along with 18 graduates.

Lotus’ recruitment drive follows a £100 million investment by owners DRB-HICOM, enabling the company to strengthen its engineering, productivity, efficiency and quality.

Both the engineering specialists and graduates will work on the development of new products within Lotus Engineering, one of the most renowned automotive engineering facilities in the world.

Lotus has created the new positions in response to increased global demand for its sports cars and an anticipated rise in interest in its engineering consultancy services. The firm is also focusing on growing into new global markets as currently around 90% of all Lotus vehicles are exported.

Lotus, which recently unveiled its latest model, the Exige S Roadster, employs more than 1,100 staff across the UK with its headquarters based in Hethel, Norfolk.
