STARTECH fits the Range Rover Evoque Si4 with eco-friendly LPG autogas power

The STARTECH REFINEMENT program for the Range Rover Evoque is very popular all over the world. Now STARTECH (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 20 41 / 7744 555, fax + 49 / (0) 20 41 / 7744 544, internet www.startech.de), a BRABUS Group company, now takes an entirely new approach, and in a world premiere at the IAA presents a particularly eco-friendly autogas system for the Evoque Si4 with 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine safety-tested by the German Technical Inspection Association, TÜV.
Depending on the country in which the Evoque is operated, it can cut fuel expenses by half while lowering CO2 emissions by about 15 percent.
Of course the most eco-friendly version of the small Range Rover to date can be upgraded with the entire lineup of the STARTECH REFINEMENT product portfolio.
To emphasize the green aspect of the autogas-powered Evoque visually, the STARTECH show car for the 2013 IAA sports an application of special matt foil with a color gradation from light to dark blue.

A particularly powerful and sporty version powered by turbocharged two-liter gasoline engine producing 177 kW / 240 hp is available as an alternative to the Evoque diesel models.

To make this model even more eco-friendly, STARTECH decided to develop a bivalent autogas system for the Evoque Si4. For the development STARTECH partnered with Prins, one of the market leaders in the design of autogas systems with decades of experience in the field.

The two companies jointly designed a special autogas system for the direct injection engine of the Evoque. It builds on the Prins Direct LiquiMax-2.0 system that has already proven its quality in thousands of cars on the road. The autogas is injected into the combustion chambers at high pressure via the same injection nozzles that normally inject the gasoline. The result is in an optimized combustion process and consequently an outstanding power yield and clean emissions. For example, emissions of CO2 are reduced by about 15 percent. This means the car meets stringent Euro V emissions standards even more effortlessly than its production brethren.

The effect of the conversion to the bivalent fuel supply is noticeable at the filling station: at an average price for autogas in Germany of just 0.76 euros per liter, fuel expenses can be cut by half. Even more money can be saved in some countries such as Belgium for example, where the average price for a liter of autogas is just 0.65 euros.

The safety gas tank with a capacity of 74 liters is secured in the spare wheel well of the Evoque and ensures a large operating range. If the autogas runs low and there is no LPG pump nearby, the system automatically switches to gasoline operation. As a result the operating range is extended significantly.

Of course STARTECH also offers an interesting option for owners of a diesel-powered Evoque: The STARTECH PowerXtra SD 22 performance kit unleashes the true power inherent in the 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine of the Evoque without compromising its built-in safety reserves. The microprocessor-controlled STARTECH PowerXtra auxiliary control module is designed as a plug-and-play device and can be installed by any authorized Range Rover workshop in less than an hour.

With STARTECH PowerXtra SD 22 tuning, rated power output increases from standard 140 kW / 190 hp to 158 kW / 215 hp at a low 3,500 rpm. At the same time peak torque grows from 420 Nm to 460 Nm, already on tap from 2,000 rpm. Performance of the Evoque benefits accordingly: the STARTECH-tuned Evoque SD4 sprints from 0 – 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of more than 200 km/h.

The exhaust emissions are exemplary: like the basic model, the tuned Range Rover meets Euro V emission standards.

On the road and off the road the STARTECH-tuned turbodiesel engine delivers excellent performance, but even more importantly, impressive pulling power and fuel economy figures that despite the increase in power are at the level of the production car.

The STARTECH engine tuning is backed by the comprehensive STARTECH Warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers (see STARTECH Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated June 2013).

The STARTECH high-performance braking system, which is available for all Evoque models, is more than a match for the increase in performance at all times. The system features vented and cross-drilled brake discs measuring 365 x 29 millimeters gripped by 4-piston aluminum fixed calipers on the front axle.

For the Evoque the STARTECH designers have developed a styling program designed predominantly for on-road operations. It lends the newcomer even more carlike character. All body components are manufactured in OEM quality from high-grade Pur-R-Rim plastics.

For this purpose new fasciae were shaped for the front and rear that replace the production bumpers in their entirety. The nose of the crossover receives a more dynamic profile with striking air inlets, and the front spoiler that seems to “float” in the STARTECH fascia. The shape was fine-tuned in the wind tunnel to further reduce negative lift on the front axle, which benefits handling stability at high speeds.

The appeal of the new STARTECH rear fascia lies in its integrated diffuser and the distinctively shaped dual STARTECH exhaust embellishers that are combined with the production exhaust.

The STARTECH rear airfoil rounds out the markedly sporty appearance of the refined Range Rover Evoque and furthermore minimizes negative lift on the rear axle at high speeds.

The STARTECH REFINEMENT design program for the small Range Rover also includes various custom-tailored wheels. Customers looking for a wheel with a diameter of 20 inches can choose from the Monostar IV wheel in size 9Jx20 or the Monostar R design in size 8.5Jx20.

The largest version features STARTECH Monostar R wheels in size 9Jx22. The five-spoke design is available painted silver or in a version with black painted center and polished contours. The exclusive wheels can also be painted in vehicle or contrasting color. They are mounted with high-performance tires in size 265/35 R 22.

The STARTECH sport springs are specifically calibrated to match the sporty low-profile tires and the production shocks. They are available for all Evoque models with two-wheel or all-wheel drive, and lower the ride height of the SUV by some 30 millimeters. The lowered center of gravity makes the car’s handling even more dynamic and safe.

Another focus of the STARTECH REFINEMENT program for this and other models is the interior. The program comprises attractive accessories such as an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel and aluminum pedals, foot rest and shifter.

It goes without saying that STARTECH fulfills any request for fully custom interiors in the company upholstery shop. The finest leathers and Alcantara can be transformed into tasteful interiors in any color and upholstery design that either offers an extremely luxurious or a markedly sporty ambiance, depending on customer preference. To complement the upholstery, STARTECH offers a variety of wood and carbon-fiber trim sets in any desired color and with various surface finishes.
