Η έκθεση της Γενεύης ανοίγει τις πύλες της στις αρχές της επόμενης εβδομάδας και σύμφωνα με τα τελευταία δημοσιεύματα, εκεί θα παρουσιάσει η Bugatti το νέο μέλος της Grand Sport Vitesse Legend Edition οικογένειας.
Το μοντέλο θα πάρει το όνομα της Elizabeth Junek, μίας γυναίκας οδηγού άφησε το στίγμα της τη δεκαετία του 1920. Αν οι πληροφορίες είναι σωστές, το αυτοκίνητο που θα αποτελεί την έμπνευση για τη Elisabeth Junek Edition Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, θα είναι η Type 35B με την οποία η Junek έφτασε πάρα πολύ κοντά στο να κερδίσει το Targa Florio του 1928 αλλά ένα ελαττωματικό φρένο την ανάγκασε να χάση την πρώτη θέση και να τερματίσει στην 5η.
Όπως και η standard Grand Sport Vitesse, έτσι και η Elisabeth Junek Edition θα κινείται από τον 8-λιτρο W16 που παράγει 1.200 άλογα και 1.500 Nm ροπής και συνδυάζεται με ένα 7-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο διπλού συμπλέκτη. Οι επιδόσεις παραμένουν ως είχαν: 2.6 δευτερόλεπτα για το 0-100 και τελική 408.84km/h με την οροφή κατεβασμένη.
Να σημειωθεί πως και τα αυτοκίνητα των τριών προηγούμενων Grand Sport Vitesse Legend Editions εκδόσεων έχουν πουληθεί.

Successful Bugatti Legends: All three model series presented so far in the six-part edition “Les Légendes de Bugatti” have been sold

Molsheim, 27 February 2014. All nine vehicles of the three models presented so far in the “Les Légendes de Bugatti” edition have been sold. Bugatti will present a total of six models in this edition. All models are strictly limited to three vehicles each. Bugatti honours important personalities from its company history with each special edition. The net price of the first three Legends was around €2.2m.
“The Legends edition is a great success for Bugatti. The response from our customers is amazing. These are automotive works of art, which each tell a part of Bugatti’s history,” says Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.
“The Legends edition is part of Bugatti’s success story,” continued Schreiber. “After a very successful year in 2013, more than 90 percent of the 450 planned Veyrons have been sold. We are confident that we will be just as successful this year. Our existing and potential customers know that the opportunity to purchase one of these exceptional super sports cars is running out.”
To launch the “Les Légendes de Bugatti” edition last year, Bugatti presented the Jean-Pierre Wimille, named after two-time Le Mans winner for Bugatti, in Pebble Beach, California. The second Legend model followed at the IAA in Frankfurt, where the Jean Bugatti, dedicated to the design genius and son of company founder Ettore, was presented. The third and latest vehicle shown was named after Meo Costantini, head of the Bugatti factory racing team, and was unveiled in November at the Dubai Motor Show.
The Legends vehicles are based on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse1, the world’s fastest production roadster.
Bugatti will present the fourth model of the Legends edition on 4 March at Geneva Motor Show. The press conference will take place at 8:40 am at the Bugatti stand in Hall 1.
