Στην ανάκληση 833.000 Sonata MY2011-2014 προχωρά η Hyundai τα οποία έχουν κατασκευαστεί το διάστημα μεταξύ 11 Δεκεμβρίου 2009 και 29 Μαΐου 2014. Στα συγκεκριμένα αυτοκίνητα υπάρχει ο κίνδυνος το συρματόσχοινο του κιβωτίου ταχυτήτων να αποσυνδεθεί από τον μοχλό των ταχυτήτων και όπως καταλαβαίνεις κάτι τέτοιο γεννά αρκετά προβλήματα στον οδηγό. Η Hyundai έχει δεχτεί μέχρι σήμερα 1.171 περιπτώσεις που να σχετίζονται με το θέμα.
Παράλληλα η Hyundai ανακοίνωσε και την ανάκληση 5.650 Sonata MY2015 κατασκευής 25 Απριλίου – 16 Ιούνη 2014, στα οποία υπάρχει περίπτωση να σπάσουν οι μπροστινές δαγκάνες των φρένων. Και στις δύο περιπτώσεις, η Hyundai θα ειδοποιήσει τους οδηγούς των προς ανάκληση αυτοκινήτων, αντικαθιστώντας τόσο το συρματόσχοινο όσο και τις δαγκάνες των φρένων εντελώς δωρεάν.

SUMMARY:
Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 Sonata vehicles manufactured December 11, 2009, through May 29, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the transmission shift cable may detach from from the shift lever pin.
CONSEQUENCE:
If the transmission shift cable detaches, the transmission gear selection may not match the indicated gear and the vehicle may move in an unintended or unexpected direction, increasing the risk of a crash. Furthermore, when the driver parks the vehicle, despite selecting the ‘PARK’ position, the transmission may not be in ‘PARK.’ If the vehicle is not in the ‘PARK’ position and the parking brake is not applied, there is a risk the vehicle will roll away as the driver and other occupants exit the vehicle or anytime thereafter. A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.
REMEDY:
Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, repair the connection between the shift cable and shift lever, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 123.

SUMMARY:
Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2015 Sonata vehicles manufactured April 25, 2014, through June 16, 2014. Due to a manufacturing error, one or both of the front brake calipers may fracture.
CONSEQUENCE:
If a brake caliper fractures, brake effectiveness would be reduced, lengthening to distance required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
REMEDY:
Hyundai contacted the affected owners on June 19, 2014 and instructed them not to drive their vehicles. Hyundai dealers will replace the affected brake calipers, free of charge. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 120.
