  • Volkswagen displays product range at global construction trade fair
  • First glimpse of all-new Crafter through virtual reality glasses

Hanover / Munich, 12 April 2016: Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is presenting a number of different vehicles and innovations at the BAUMA show in Munich, including the first glimpse of the all-new Crafter – thanks to a virtual reality display.

BAUMA is the key world trade fair for the construction equipment industry, and, held every three years, attracts a wide variety of national and international trade visitors.

Between 11 and 17 April, on its 400 square metre stand in Hall B4, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is displaying a variety of vehicles from the current product range. As well as the Caddy Alltrack and Transporter panel van, the Hanover-based LCV manufacturer is also showing a Transporter chassis cab with specialised equipment and the special edition Amarok Atacama pick-up. Further innovative product developments, bodies and conversions will be presented that have been optimised for the target group at BAUMA.

A special highlight is the chance to catch a first glimpse of the all-new Crafter, long before the vehicle makes its world premiere later this year. Using virtual reality glasses, visitors can take a virtual look at the extensive possibilities of the Crafter’s cargo space. The new vehicle’s solid wood universal loading floor makes it ideal for the installation of racking and storage systems, while special adapters cut out of the floor covering as well as the roof enable flexible installation and removal without gluing or drilling, and while maintaining corrosion protection. A simple ‘plug and play’ system, this is just one example of how the new Crafter has been designed to be easy to use and cost-effective for owners.
