Η Alfa Romeo στην έκθεση της Φρανκφούρτης είχε παρουσιάσει την Giulietta MY2014 και την MiTo MY2014. H Giulietta απέκτησε νέα γρίλια και νέους προβολείς ομίχλης με χρωμιομένα διακοσμητικά, τρία νέα χρώματα (Moonlight Pearl, Anodizzato Blue και Bronze) καθώς και τρεις νέες ζάντες (διαθέσιμες σε διαστάσεις 16″, 17″ και 18″). Στην Ελλάδα ξεκινά από τις 19.500 ευρώ και αφορά την έκδοση 1.4 ΤΒ 105hp Progression.
Οι αλλαγές στο εσωτερικό είναι μεγαλύτερες αφού η Giulietta διαθέτει νέο τιμόνι, νέα κεντρική κονσόλα, νέο ταμπλό, νέα πάνελ στις πόρτες, ενώ στο κέντρο του ταμπλό συναντάμε και το σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας U-connect, με οθόνη αφής 5″ ή 6,5″ και σύστημα πλοήγησης, που τοποθετήθηκε για πρώτη φορά στο 500L. Επίσης συναντάμε νέα καθίσματα με νέες επενδύσεις, νέα διακοσμητικά και επιπλέον αποθηκευτικούς χώρους. Η ποιότητα των υλικών στο εσωτερικό είναι καλύτερη με τα σχεδόν τα πάντα να διαθέτουν αντοχή στης γρατσουνιές.
Η έκδοση Quadrifoglio Verde διαθέτει σπορ καθίσματα με μαύρο δέρμα και Alcantara και λογότυπο στα προσκέφαλα. Συνολικά 5 επίπεδα εξοπλισμού θα διαθέτει η ανανεωμένη Giulietta (Impression, Progression, Distinctive, Exclusive και Quadrifoglio Verde) όπου στον βασικό εξοπλισμό συναντάμε 6 αερόσακους, το σύστημα Alfa DNA, air condition και σύστημα ελέγχου πίεσης ελαστικών.
Κάτω από το καπό πλέον βρίσκεται και ο 2.0 JTDM 2 απόδοσης 150 ίππων με 380 Nm ροπής με τις πωλήσεις της να έχουν προγραμματιστεί για τον Οκτώβριο στις περισσότερες Ευρωπαϊκές αγορές.
Η Alfa Romeo ανακοίνωσε επίσης πως η MiTo MY2014 θα αποκτήσει και αυτή νέα χρωμιομένη γρίλια, νέο γκρι χρώμα, τον 0.9 Turbo TwinAir 105 HP κινητήρα, το σύστημα Uconnect με οθόνη αφής 5″, νέο ταμπλό και τέσσερις νέους χρωματικούς συνδυασμούς στο εσωτερικό. Στην ελληνική αγορά η τιμή της MiTo MY 2014 ξεκινά από €14.700 και αφορά την έκδοση 1.4 78hp Progression.

Για να συνεχίσει να παίζει πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο στην κατηγορία των premium μικρομεσαίων χάτσμπακ, η Giulietta προσφέρεται με ανανεωμένο στιλ και περισσότερα τεχνολογικά στοιχεία. Tο νέο μοντέλο έχει μικρές αλλαγές στην εξωτερική εμφάνιση, όπως νέα επιχρωμιωμένη μάσκα και νέα πλαίσια εμπρός προβολέων ομίχλης με επιχρωμιωμένες γραμμές που, σε συνδυασμό με μία εξαιρετική σχεδίαση που έχει κερδίσει διεθνή αναγνώριση από την πρώτη στιγμή, τραβούν αμέσως το βλέμμα. Uconnect με οθόνη αφής 5” ή 6.5” RadioNav
Σχεδιασμένο για να εμπλουτίσει την οδηγική απόλαυση και πλήρως εναρμονισμένη με το σχεδιαστικό στιλ του αυτοκινήτου, η καινοτόμα συσκευή Uconnect multimedia είναι διαθέσιμη με οθόνη αφής 5” ή 6.5” με δορυφορικό σύστημα πλοήγησης και φωνητικές εντολές για εύκολο έλεγχο των πολλαπλών λειτουργιών της. Το σύστημα Uconnect επιτρέπει την εύκολη πρόσβαση σε όλες τις multimedia πηγές (mediaplayer, iPod, iPhone, smartphone) οι οποίες μπορούν να συνδεθούν μέσω μιας θύρας USB ή της υποδοχής Aux-in.
Το σύστημα επίσης ενσωματώνει αναβαθμισμένη λειτουργία Bluetooth με έξτρα λειτουργίες, όπως τη διαχείριση μιας κλήσης ή την ανάγνωση ενός SMS, καινοτόμο Audio Streaming system και web radio απευθείας από το smartphone.
Εξωτερικά
Moonlight Pearl, Anodize Blue και Bronze: τρεις νέες κορυφαίες επιλογές για να ενισχύσουν τις δυναμικές γραμμές του μοντέλου αποτελούν ένα μίγμα από σπορ αίσθηση και κομψότητα. Η νέα εμφάνιση της εμπρός «γρίλιας» και το χρωμιωμένο πλαίσιο στους φανούς ομίχλης ανανεώνουν το εμπρός μέρος του αυτοκινήτου. Αυτό είναι το σημείο εκκίνησης της σχεδίασης του αυτοκινήτου, η οποία συνδυάζει μια σπορ προσωπικότητα με μια ευδιάκριτα κομψή εικόνα. Τα εμπρός φώτα έχουν φώτα ημέρας με τεχνολογία LED και λειτουργία day light για μέγιστη ενεργητική ασφάλεια. Τα καινοτόμα πίσω φώτα χρησιμοποιούν τεχνολογία LED με τον ίδιο τρόπο, η οποία δεν εξυπηρετεί μόνο την κομψότητα, αλλά και την ενίσχυση της ασφάλειας σε επίπεδο πρόληψης. Τέλος, οι τρεις νέες ζάντες αλουμινίου (16’’, 17’’ και 18’’) χαρακτηρίζουν ξεκάθαρα το προφίλ της Alfa Romeo Giulietta MY 2014. Τα πλευρικά παράθυρα θυμίζουν την εμφάνιση ενός κουπέ, τονίζοντας το δυναμισμό και τη ροή του σχεδίου, μαζί με τις «κρυμμένες» χειρολαβές.
Εσωτερικά
Προσοχή στη λεπτομέρεια και υψηλή ποιότητα υλικών επιλέχτηκαν να αντιπροσωπεύσουν την απόλυτη έκφραση του ιταλικού στιλ. Αυτό που κυρίως ξεχωρίζει είναι μια νέα σχεδίαση των εσωτερικών επιφανειών στις πόρτες καθώς και οι ολοκαίνουργιες προσθήκες στην κεντρική κονσόλα και το ταμπλό. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι ένα εξόχως ποιοτικό περιβάλλον που καλωσορίζει τους επιβάτες σε μια ζεστή και οικεία ατμόσφαιρα. Τα καθίσματα και το τιμόνι είναι επίσης νέα ενώ περαιτέρω σημείο υπεροχής είναι η προφανής ποιότητα και η αίσθηση άνεσης.
Το εσωτερικό είναι τώρα πιο πρακτικό, καθώς αριστερά του οδηγού έχει δημιουργηθεί ένας μικρός χώρος τοποθέτησης μικροαντικειμένων. Ένας ακόμα νέος χώρος μικροαντικειμένων βρίσκεται μόνιμα στο επάνω μέρος του ταμπλό, στη θέση της Pop Up οθόνης του συστήματος πλοήγησης της προηγούμενης γενιάς, η οποία δεν χρειάζεται πλέον στο ανανεωμένο μοντέλο, αφού η νέα οθόνη είναι ενσωματωμένη στο ταμπλό. Επίσης, η θύρα USB του συστήματος Infotainment δε βρίσκεται πλέον στο ντουλαπάκι του συνοδηγού, αλλά σε πιο προσιτό σημείο δίπλα στο διακόπτη DNA. Αυτό έχει ως συνέπεια και την απελευθέρωση επιπλέον αξιοποιήσιμου όγκου στο ντουλαπάκι
Οδηγική απόλαυση
Η Giulietta έχει τη δική της θέση στην ένδοξη παράδοση της Alfa Romeo μεταξύ των καλύτερων μοντέλων της, αντλώντας το δικό της κεφάλαιο στον τομέα της δυναμικής συμπεριφοράς, χωρίς συμβιβασμούς στην αποδοτικότητα και στην ευκολία στην καθημερινή χρήση. Το μυστικό πίσω από αυτές τις επιδόσεις είναι η συνεχής τεχνολογική έρευνα. Επιπλέον, η οδηγική απόλαυση και η άνεση προσαρμόζονται με τρόπο που να καλύπτουν τις προσωπικές ανάγκες κάθε πελάτη, χάρη στον επιλογέα Alfa DNA. Ασφάλεια
Giulietta MY 2014: ένα από τα ασφαλέστερα αυτοκίνητα στην κατηγορία του. Μαζί με τα έξοχα δυναμικά χαρακτηριστικά του, το αυτοκίνητο προσφέρει σε όλες του τις εκδόσεις πλήρη εξοπλισμό ασφαλείας, όπως έξι αερόσακους, ESP, ζώνες τριών σημείων με προεντατήρες, καθίσματα με σύστημα «αντιβύθισης» και διπλή εμπρός ζώνη παραμόρφωσης για μέγιστη προστασία στο θάλαμο επιβατών. Και φυσικά υπάρχουν πάντοτε το Alfa DNA με το ηλεκτρονικό διαφορικό Q2, όπως και το DST, το σύστημα που προτρέπει τον οδηγό να κάνει διορθωτικές κινήσεις σε περίπτωση έκτακτης ανάγκης, μέσω παλμών στο τιμόνι. Η Giulietta κέρδισε 5 αστέρια στο Euro NCAP από το ξεκίνημα της καριέρας της, πετυχαίνοντας 97% στην προστασία ενηλίκων, μια από τις υψηλότερες επιδόσεις στην κατηγορία.
Εκδόσεις
Η γκάμα της ανανεωμένης Giulietta ακολουθεί την ίδια λογική με την προηγούμενη σειρά σε ό,τι αφορά τα μηχανικά μέρη και θα διατίθεται με τους βενζινοκινητήρες 1.4 ΤΒ των 105 ίππων, των 120 ίππων και των 170 ίππων, και τον ντίζελ 1.6 JTDM-2 των 105 ίππων. Κατά το πρώτο τρίμηνο του 2014 θα αρχίσει να διατίθεται η νέα έκδοση QV, με το νέο κινητήρα 1.75 TBi των 240 ίππων, και η νέα έκδοση Distinctive 2.0 JTDM-2 των 170 ίππων. Αμφότεροι θα συνδυάζονται με την τελευταίας γενιάς αυτόματη μετάδοση διπλού ξηρού συμπλέκτη Alfa TCT.
Η ανανεωμένη Giulietta διατίθεται σε 3 επίπεδα εξοπλισμού, Progression, Distinctive και QV, όλα ιδιαίτερα πλούσια, με έμφαση στα συστήματα ενεργητικής και παθητικής ασφάλειας, αλλά και στην απόλαυση της σπορ οδήγησης με οικονομία, αφού όλα διαθέτουν σύστημα Alfa DNA και σύστημα Start-Stop (εκτός από την έκδοση QV).
Στην ελληνική αγορά η τιμή της Giulietta MY 2014 ξεκινά από €19.500 (τιμή τιμοκαταλόγου) και αφορά την έκδοση 1.4 ΤΒ 105hp Progression.
Alfa Romeo MiTo MY 14
Η ανανεωμένη Alfa Romeo MiTo στοχεύει στην ενίσχυση του σπορ χαρακτήρα του μοντέλου και την τόνωση του ενδιαφέροντος ιδιαίτερα των νεαρών πελατών. Επίσης εξασφαλίζεται η προσαρμογή της στις τεχνολογικές εξελίξεις στον τομέα των συστημάτων πληροφόρησης και ψυχαγωγίας μέσω της διαθεσιμότητας νέου ηχοσυστήματος με οθόνη αφής και θύρα USB στον προαιρετικό εξοπλισμό, καθώς και νέου συστήματος πλοήγησης. Ταυτόχρονα η ανανέωση προσαρμόζει το αυτοκίνητο στις τάσεις της αγοράς για συνδυασμό των επιδόσεων με χαμηλή κατανάλωση.
Νέος 0.9 Turbo TwinAir 105 HP
Με την ανανέωση της γκάμας των διαθέσιμων κινητήρων, η σημαντικότερη αλλαγή είναι η προσθήκη του νέου κινητήρα Twinair Turbo των 875 κ.εκ. στην έκδοση των 105 ίππων (ροπή 145Nm/2.000 σ.α.λ. στην επιλογή Dynamic). Ο κινητήρας αυτός, που προσφέρει μία εντυπωσιακή αναλογία 120 ίππων/λίτρο, συνδυάζεται με χειροκίνητο κιβώτιο 6 ταχυτήτων, καλύπτει ήδη τις νέες ευρωπαϊκές προδιαγραφές ρύπων Euro 6, προσφέρει στο αυτοκίνητο επιτάχυνση 0-100 χλμ./ώρα σε 11,4”, τελική ταχύτητα 184 χλμ./ώρα κι έχει εκπομπές CO2 μόλις 99 g/km, με συνέπεια την απαλλαγή του από τα τέλη κυκλοφορίας στην Ελλάδα. Οι υπόλοιποι κινητήρες που είναι διαθέσιμοι στη MiTo MY 14 είναι ο 1.4 των 78 ίππων και ο diesel 1.3 JTDM-2 των 85 ίππων. Από το πρώτο τρίμηνο του 2014, θα ξεκινήσει να διατίθεται και ο κινητήρας βενζίνης 1.4 Multiair των 170 ίππων, αποκλειστικά με το αυτόματο κιβώτιο TCT.
Στιλ
Οι αλλαγές στην εξωτερική εμφάνιση, εστιάζουν σε λεπτομέρειες επηρεασμένες από την υπάρχουσα σπορ έκδοση QV, όπως οι σκουρόχρωμοι προβολείς και η γρίλια με επιχρωμιωμένο πλαίσιο σε όλες τις εκδόσεις, που τονίζουν ακόμα περισσότερο το σπορ χαρακτήρα του μοντέλου. Το εσωτερικό διαθέτει νέες παραλλαγές χρωμάτων και νέο ταμπλό με μεταβαλλόμενο τόνο χρώματος, νέα εσωτερικά θυρών και νέο πλαστικό πλαίσιο στην κονσόλα του συστήματος πληροφόρησης και ψυχαγωγίας. Επιμέρους αλλαγές έχουν επίσης γίνει στις επιλογές για τις ταπετσαρίες και το ταμπλό στις διάφορες εκδόσεις εξοπλισμού, ενώ στην γκάμα εξωτερικών χρωμάτων προστίθεται το γκρι Antracite.
Infotainment
Το νέο εξελιγμένο σύστημα πληροφόρησης και ψυχαγωγίας περιλαμβάνει έγχρωμη οθόνη αφής 5”, ράδιο/CD με χειριστήρια στο τιμόνι, λειτουργία Bluetooth, θύρα USB και επιπρόσθετη θύρα Aux-In, δυνατότητα ανάγνωσης SMS, αναγνώριση φωνητικών εντολών και πίνακα ρύθμισης του υπολογιστή ταξιδιού και άλλων λειτουργιών του αυτοκινήτου και περιλαμβάνεται στο βασικό εξοπλισμό όλων των εκδόσεων (εκτός Progression). Επιπλέον ο πελάτης μπορεί να επιλέξει αυτό το σύστημα και με λειτουργία πλοήγησης μέσω της οθόνης αφής.
Ασφάλεια
Η Alfa Romeo MiTo κατασκευάστηκε για να αποσπάσει την κορυφαία βαθμολογία στις δοκιμές ενεργητικής και παθητικής ασφάλειας και είναι ένα από τα ασφαλέστερα αυτοκίνητα στην αγορά, όπως αποδείχθηκε από τα 5 αστέρια που κέρδισε στις σημαντικές δοκιμές Euro NCAP. Το νέο μοντέλο χρησιμοποιεί τις καλύτερες ηλεκτρονικές εφαρμογές για έλεγχο της δυναμικής συμπεριφοράς, που εγγυώνται τη μέγιστη ασφάλεια και την πρόσφυση του αυτοκινήτου ακόμα και στις πιο δύσκολες συνθήκες.

That’s why the Giulietta has received no fewer than 22 awards and notched up a total of 224,000 sales since launch – in mid-2010 – to date. In order to continue playing the starring role in its segment, the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta Model Year 2014 offers important innovations, starting with the new 150 HP 2.0 JTDM 2 complete with the second-generation MultiJet injection system. The engine is also equipped with a low inertia turbocharger whose efficiency and prompt response allow it to deliver the highest torque in its segment already at low speeds: 380 Nm at 1750 rpm. With this engine, the new car records top performance, with a top speed of 210 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. All this with very low fuel consumption and emissions: the figures recorded on the type-approval combined cycle were 4.2 litres of fuel per 100 km and just 110 g/km of CO2, respectively.
Even the style has been updated with an unprecedented front grille, the new chrome-plated frame of the fog lights and a number of 16”, 17” and 18” wheels. The colour range is more extensive now with three new body colours added: Moonlight Pearl, Anodizzato Blue and Bronze. New features are also found inside, like the steering wheel, seats and treatments for the dashboard, door panels and handles. The Giulietta Model Year 2014 also offers more technological features, such as the new Uconnect multimedia device with 5″ or 6.5″ touchscreen built into the dashboard. The MiTo MY 2014 revamps its technological image while maintaining its consolidated image as a sporty compact capable of winning over motorists attentive to Italian style and technological excellence for the pleasure of driving in complete safety. The exterior flaunts a new chrome-plated grille, the shade of Anthracite Grey and the burnished front light cluster finish. The interior is now even more refined with the debut of four upholstery options and three brand-new dashboards with specific trims according to the version.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulietta Model Year 2014 will contribute to consolidating the outstanding sales performance the model has obtained so far: from mid-2010 to date, more than 217,000 units have been ordered worldwide.
New 150 HP 2.0 JTDM 2 engine
The new 150 HP 2.0 JTDM engine is making its first appearance with the 2014 range. It is equipped with the second-generation MultiJet injection system that both optimises engine combustion in all operating conditions and ensures reduction in fuel consumption and noise at the same time.
Using a small-sized turbocharger means delivering the highest torque in the category at low rpm (380 Nm at 1750 rpm) and maximum running flexibility. And that’s not all. Thus equipped, the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta Model Year 2014 records excellent performance: top speed of 210 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds, 4.2 l/100 km of fuel consumption and 110 g/km of CO2 (in the combined cycle).
The heart of the 2.0 JTDM 2 engine is without a doubt the third generation Common Rail injection system that uses innovative injectors able to control the amount of diesel injected into the combustion chamber with utmost precision with a particularly quick and flexible injection sequence thanks to the balanced hydraulic servo valve.
More in detail, up to eight injections per stroke are possible together with strategies that optimise the increasingly advanced combustion, such as the Injection Rate Shaping (IRS) system which involves two consecutive injections so close together in time as to generate a continuous and modulated fuel supply into the cylinders. In this way the combustion process is improved, all to the benefit of quieter operation and reduced particulate and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Furthermore, the new injection system is even simpler and more reliable because the injectors have a simpler structure with 40% fewer components.
Uconnect with 5″ or 6.5″ Radionav touchscreen
Designed to enrich the driving experience and perfectly integrated in the design of the car, the innovative Uconnect multimedia device is available with a 5″ or 6.5″ touch-screen with satellite navigation system and voice commands for easy control of several multimedia sources and outputs.
Both systems have been developed in collaboration with first-class partners: Harman and Here Auto for UConnect 6.5″ and Continental for UConnect 5″.
The Uconnect system lets you access all the main functions, from the analogue and digital radio (DAB) – in markets where the optional is sold – through to all the main multimedia resources (media player, iPod, iPhone, smartphone) which can be connected via USB port or Aux-in socket.
The system also includes an advanced Bluetooth interface to access extra functions, such as phone call management or reading received SMS text messages via text-to-speech technology, innovative Audio Streaming system that reproduces music files and web radio stations directly from a smartphone in streaming via Bluetooth on the UConnect device.
Finally, with the Uconnect Nav with 6.5″ touch-screen, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta MY 2014 customer can rely on the satellite navigation function with 3D bird’s eye view maps and progressive route guidance or the ‘One Step Voice entry Destination’ function for entering the destination address using voice commands. Exterior
Moonlight Pearl, Anodizzato Blue and Bronze: three new liveries to enhance the dynamic lines of a model that is a blend of sportiness and elegance. The new look of the front grille and the chrome-plated frame of the foglights renew its front. This is the starting point for the design of the entire car, which combines an energetic personality with a distinctly elegant form. The front headlights have DRL with LED technology and a day light function for maximum active safety. The innovative rear lights use LED technology in the same way, which serves not only a stylish purpose but also preventive safety.
Finally, the three new alloy wheels (16”, 17” and 18”) clearly highlight the profile of the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta Model Year 2014. The side windows recall the appearance of a coupé and emphasise the dynamism and fluidity of the shapes, thanks also to the concealed rear door handles. The ribs on the vehicle sides elongate the car while the clean lines which end at the rear accentuate the angular shape of the car body.
Interiors
Attention to detail and high quality materials chosen to represent the ultimate expression of Italian style. What particularly stand out are a new door panel and handle and the brand new insert on the central console and dashboard. All elements are treated with uniform scratch-proof paint and the trims are homogeneous in colour and materials. The result is a superior quality environment that welcomes passengers into a warm and enveloping atmosphere. The seats and steering wheel are new, too, and further highlight the perceived quality and on-board comfort.
In particular, making their début on the Quadrifoglio Verde version are the new specific sports seats upholstered in black leather/Alcantara with contrasting stitching with electro-welded logo on the backrest (also available on the QV Sportiva Pack). Now the Progression version offers the black/anthracite grey fabric, while the Giulietta Model Year 2014 Distinctive customer can choose between two colour combinations for the fabric upholstery: black/tobacco or anthracite grey. The Exclusive version comes with leather/fabric upholstery that can be in the shade of either black/anthracite grey or tobacco/anthracite grey. All the upholstery is available in top quality leather in the shades of red, tobacco or black on request.
Sporty design and a new form which refers to the Alfa Romeo grille also for the steering wheel, now characterised by an aluminium insert, black, white or red stitching – depending on the interiors and trim levels – and upholstery in top quality leather made with special foam that ensures a safe and immediate grip. Finally, the luggage compartment has been renewed with a specific black trim for the entire volume (bottom, sides and behind the rear seats). The storage compartment on the left of the steering wheel, the upper glove compartment on the dashboard and the USB port starting from today placed close to the DNA selector – so its use is more convenient and immediate – complete the new features inside the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta Model Year 2014.

Combined with a six-speed manual gearbox and with the DNA selector in Dynamic position, the new engine delivers 105 HP (72 kW) at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 2000 rpm (ratings are 105 HP@5750 rpm and 120 Nm@1750 rpm, respectively, in Natural mode).
Furthermore, the 105 HP TwinAir is the best expression of eco-friendliness, as confirmed by its consumption and CO2 emissions, which are among the lowest in its class: 4.2 litres/100 km and 99 g/km on the type-approval combined cycle, respectively. Remarkably, emissions are so low that comply with the European standards of 2020 already today. In other words, the 105 HP TwinAir Turbo is comfortable, cost-effective, eco-friendly and never boring when it comes to performance: it clocks a top speed of 184 km/h and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in only 11.4 seconds, in addition to having a remarkable specific power of 120 HP/litre, which ranks it among the sportiest of engines.
The new TwinAir family engine combines the concept of downsizing (displacement and weight reduction) with sophisticated technologies, like supercharging with high-efficiency turbocharger, integration of the exhaust manifold in the cylinder head and the totally new MultiAir intake valve control system. With its unique intake cam profile, the MultiAir second generation further optimises thermodynamic efficiency of the engine by modulating the amount of exhaust gas recirculated in the combustion chamber (internal EGR).
The new 105 HP 0.9 TwinAir completes the range engines that consists of 2 turbodiesel engines – 85 HP 1.3 JTDM and 120 HP 1.6 JTDM (both updated in E5+) – and 5 petrol engines: 70 HP 1.4, 78 HP 1.4, 135 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo Petrol (with manual gearbox or Alfa TCT automatic transmission) and the 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo Petrol. The engine range also includes the 120 HP 1.4 LPG Turbo, a superb concentration of power and technology, which combines top-notch performance, environmental-friendliness and low running costs. New drivers can choose the 70 HP 1.4 and the 78 HP 1.4 petrol engines or the 85 HP 1.3 Jtdm diesel version.
Style
The new MiTo Model Year 2014 revamps its technological image while maintaining its consolidated image as a sporty compact capable of winning over motorists who demand care for details, Italian style and technical excellence for total safety driving style.
The 2014 range introduces some important new style features, starting from the new redesigned grille completed by a chrome-plated frame to create a family feeling with the Giulietta, making the front of the car look more streamlined. Other new features are the Anthracite Grey body colour and the burnished finish of the front light clusters that characterise all trim levels.
The interiors are even more sophisticated, now with four new upholstery combinations to choose from: two new Evoluzione fabrics (Black/Titanium or Black/Red) for Distinctive, the QV Sportiva pack with a new sporty seat and white inserts (available for Distinctive only) and the new Heritage Black fabric with electrically welded Alfa Romeo badge for the Quadrifoglio Verde.
Innovations also in the dashboard portfolio: Street with specific black version for Impression, Progression and QV Sportiva; and Evoluzione – two dashboard designs, both shaded (grey-black or black-red) for Distinctive.
Infotainment
The multimedia device is made by Continental and based on Uconnect, the next-generation infotainment platform concept, is debuting on MiTo Model Year 2014 to reconfirm the technology ambassador spirit that characterised the car’s first steps.
Available with or without integrated navigation system developed with TomTom, the device features a 5″ colour touchscreen for accessing many functions, the radio and the multimedia devices (media player, iPod, iPhone, smartphone) connectable via USB port and the Aux-in connector.
The system also includes an advanced Bluetooth interface to access extra functions, such as phone call management or reading received SMS text messages via text-to-speech technology, innovative Audio Streaming system that reproduces music files and web radio stations directly from a smartphone in streaming via Bluetooth on the UConnect device.
By choosing the version with integrated navigation you have the opportunity to enjoy additional new features: in addition to the built-in navigation developed in collaboration with TomTom® (with voice recognition), the system will be equipped with GPS system, IQ Routes® (which calculates the best route based on the real average speeds measured on the roads) and Infotraffic system with real time updates.
Safety
The Alfa Romeo MiTo was designed to obtain the maximum score in passive and active safety tests. In short, total protection making it one of the safest cars in the field of motoring, as demonstrated by the prestigious five Euro NCAP stars.
The new car offers, as standard on the entire range, the most sophisticated electronic devices for maximum dynamic vehicle control (from braking to traction) implemented to increase dynamic limits even further, non-intrusive to the driver, but affording all-round safety.
In addition to a braking system affording excellent performance levels, the Alfa Romeo MiTo Model Year 2014 is equipped with the ABS anti-lock braking system, one of the most sophisticated currently available, complete with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). Other functions include the electronic stability (ESC) and traction (ASR) control systems, the hydraulic brake assistance for emergency braking system (HBA), assisted hill start system (HILL HOLDER), the system that controls engine braking when the accelerator pedal is released (MSR) and the Cornering Brake Control (CBC) system. The extensive range is completed by the Alfa Q2 – the electronic system reproducing the action of a self-locking differential – and Alfa Active Steering, the ‘active electronic steering’ that prompts the driver to correct oversteering on poor-grip surfaces through a light impulse on the steering wheel.
The Alfa Romeo MiTo MY 2014 is one of the safest cars in its segment and also in the field of motoring as a whole. The new model represents the state-of-the-art as far as passive safety is concerned. Total protection, in short, as evidenced by seven airbags as standard (two of which Multistage), three-point seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters, an anti-whiplash device built into the backrest on the front seats, 5 warning lights displayed on a small screen to inform the driver whether the seat belts of all the passengers are securely fastened, and LED rear lights to improve the visibility of the car. Not to mention the contribution to occupant protection made by the body, the bonnet, the doors and the dashboard crossmember in addition to the seats and steering column, that have been designed with a view to their behaviour in the event of an accident.
2014 range
The 2014 range today marketed in Italy features five trim levels (Impression, Progression, Distinctive, Superbike and Quadrifoglio Verde), and ten body colours, including the new Anthracite Grey. Contrasting roof and mirror fairings are also available for the Superbike version. The outstanding customisation level of the MiTo is reasserted once again with ten different alloy rim patterns, including the new 15” Silver Style rims for the Impression trim level.
Depending on the version, customers can choose from a wide range of engines – all efficient, reliable and eco-friendly: 70 HP 1.4, 78 HP 1.4, 135 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo Petrol (with manual gearbox or Alfa TCT automatic transmission), 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo Petrol, 105 HP 0.9 Turbo TwinAir, 85 HP 1.3 JTDM, 120 HP 1.6 JTDM and 120 HP 1.4 LPG Turbo.
