Η Lancia εκμεταλλεύτηκε το 68ο διεθνές φεστιβάλ κινηματογράφου της Βενετίας και έκανε την νέα Thema το επίσημο αυτοκίνητο του φεστιβάλ. Η νέα Thema στην ουσία αποτελεί την ευρωπαϊκή έκδοση του Chrysler 300, θα παρουσιαστεί στη Φρανκφούρτη και σε σχέση με το Αμερικάνικο μοντέλο, διαθέτει ανανεωμένο σχεδιασμό και νέο εσωτερικό με δερμάτινο Poltrona Frau ταμπλό, ξύλινα διακοσμητικά και μπλε κρυφό φωτισμό.

Μηχανικά υπάρχουν 3 V6 κινητήρες. Ο 3.6 λίτρων βενζίνης αποδίδει 296 άλογα, ενώ ο 3.0 λίτρων diesel είναι διαθέσιμος σε δύο εκδόσεις, 193 και 227 ίππων. Ο κινητήρας βενζίνης συνδυάζεται με ένα 8-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο ενώ ο πετρελαιοκινητήρας και στις δύο εκδόσεις του φορά ένα 5-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο. Οι πωλήσεις της θα ξεκινήσουν από τον Οκτώβριο με τις τιμές να μην έχουν ανακοινωθεί και θα είναι διαθέσιμη με 3 επίπεδα εξοπλισμού Gold, Platinum και Executive.

The Lancia Thema is the Official Car of the 68th Venice International Film Festival

For the 68th Venice International Film Festival, of which Lancia is the main sponsor for the seventh year running, the brand is providing the organisation with a fleet of Lancia Themas which will be used to accompany celebrities and film stars to the red carpet and around the Lido area.

This is the first official debut of the new global flagship vehicle, which combines the best of two industrial cultures, with its typically American dimensions, personality and performance and the elegance, comfort and luxury belonging to the interiors of Lancia’s greats. Venice is the only possible location for this première: the spectacular water city is a national icon with an international soul, the essence of Italian beauty and class and at the same time a gateway to the world.

The new Thema’s role as Official Car of the film festival strengthens the historic links between Lancia and the cinema, a natural sphere of communication for a brand which shares the same values of charm, emotion, culture and beauty, as well as embracing an audience of the same age, professional background and tastes. This is a very close tie, demonstrated by the direct appearance of some of Lancia’s cars in famous movies, including amongst others, “Big Deal on Madonna Street” (I soliti ignoti) in 1958, “The Easy Life” (Il sorpasso) in 1962, “A Man and a Woman” (Un uomo, una donna) in 1966, “Deep red” (Profondo rosso) in 1975 and “Pour la peau d’un flic” in 1981. Since 2006, the brand has also supported the main film festivals, events which are marked by class, style, importance and internationality. Nor we must forget that, since 2008, the Lancia Delta has been the Official Car of some of the most prominent film festivals, the undisputed star of very attractive ads featuring Richard Gere, and featured in a revolutionary placement in the movie “Angels and Demons”.

Like the original 1984 Thema, the new top-of-the-range saloon takes on the toughest, but also the most prestigious, segment, striving to offer a genuine alternative. The aim is to satisfy the demand for technology which is less “cold” than what has been on offer until now in this market sector, a demand for more warmth, greater craftsmanship and a stronger personality. And this is where the Lancia Thema fits in, the new flagship which when used every day turns the concept of a simple “means of transport” into an exhilarating travel experience, because a “great trip” is not just leaving and arriving, but a continuous string of emotions and discoveries.

On sale from October in all European dealerships, the Lancia Thema is available in three trim levels – Gold, Platinum and Executive – with three engine options: the 286 HP 3.6L V6 petrol with automatic 8-speed gearbox and the 190 and 239 HP 3.0L diesel options, both equipped with automatic 5-speed gearboxes.

The new Lancia Ypsilon will also be present at the Venetian event. This “mini flagship”, only 3.84 metres long, combines the best of Italian style, innovation and environmental friendliness. A 5-door version is now on offer for the first time, providing even more comfort for lovers of Lancia charm, technological excellence and unique style. The Thema and the Ypsilon represent the two extremes of the world’s largest premium range which spans from segment B up to Large MPVs. In fact, Lancia is the only brand which brings style, quality and city-car personality to its flagship; the only brand to ensure warm, Italian elegance wherever it is sold, including in the classic high-volume segments; the only brand to transform luxury from a privilege into a right, to offer exclusivity which seduces instead of intimidating.
